in, it did re-boot, but now the ethernet connection logo is red and

So just what is going on here???

 Thanks for any help!

I'm getting exactly the same thing on both of mine.

Seems ever since the upgrade, when I tune in Detroit FM station 105.1
(Magic FM) I hear a scratchy sound, mostly just when the disc jockeys
are talking. Can some of you please tune this station in and tell me if
you're hearing that too? Thanks.

In the meantime, go to this site:

 http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/

Find the county/city you are interested in, click on listen, and tell
it you want the winamp or itunes player feed. You may need to actually
open with winamp or itunes to see the actual URL. Or maybe you can
simply open the playlist file it gives you by saving the file to your
desktop. This will give you the URL for this feed. You can then add
this URL as a favorite in your mysqueezebox.com account, and you'll
have these as a favorite station on any SB you use, including the
 TOUCH.

I tried it on a few and works nicely.

Nice idea, but it won't work for very long when set as a favorite. They
change the URL links for each stream frequently to stop permanent
leeching. The ScannerBox application uses an API interface to Radio
Reference streams and automatically accommodates the URL link changes.

So, you really think that having the Squeezebox radio disconnect itself

multiple reboots daily are just minor annoyances and an
inconvenience?

Perhaps I'm setting my standards too high. I expected it to simply
work.

unplug squeezebox, do a reset of your router (for some reason part of

 power on the router
power on the squeezebox (wireless now--no Ethernet cable)
go to settings and setup your wireless network(find the router, enter

Thanks, Kelly! This procedure appears to have worked for me. No
disconnects in a 24 hour period since performing the above steps. I
have 2 Squeezebox Radios and they're both now stable.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] dropping connection after firmware update

2010-04-28 Thread Stevereno

This 7.5 upgrade situation is frustrating at best. I have two Squeezebox
radios that performed flawlessly before the forced upgrade. Now, they
lock up frequently, stop playing music after a couple hours, and must
be re-booted many times throughout a given day. I find it unacceptable
that Logitech doesn't acknowledge this issue and communicate that a
fix is forthcoming. Previously, I would have recommended their
products - but after this escapade I no longer feel they value their
customers. Very bad customer service which causes a negative perception
of their corporation. Pretty sad.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Internet Radio, Local, State, City

2010-02-26 Thread Stevereno

I'm experiencing something similar. I took my Squeezebox radio to work
today and have it connected to our WiFi Guest network.

Normally, when I go to select Local internet radio, I see my location
of Washington, Michigan at the top of the screen and a list of Detroit
area stations underneath. But when I have it here at work (in Troy,
Michigan) and select Local, for some reason it says Westerville, Ohio
at the top of the screen and what I see underneath are all stations from
the Ohio area. What the heck? My work location is in Michigan, so I
can't figure why it thinks I'm in Ohio?

I suspect this is something involving the IP that is dished out via
DHCP whatever service you're connected to. Otherwise, why does local
change. I haven't changed anything at all in my Squeezebox programming
whatsoever.

Any others experiencing something similar when you take your Squeezebox
outside of your regular home location?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Internet Radio, Local, State, City

2010-02-26 Thread Stevereno

Thanks snarlydwarf, that worked.

I did find that I had to set Radio Time to Display on home menu. So,
now, after I select Radio Time from the main menu, then Local, I do
indeed get my normal local Detroit stations to select from. Very cool.

The regular Internet Radio Local still looks to be based on my IP/ISP
same as before, but I don't see a down side or a way to change that.

Is how I've described it above the proper way it should be operating
using Radio Time?

[SlimDevices: Radio] Station Logo Inconsistent?

2010-02-04 Thread Stevereno

Any ideas as to why the radio station logo is inconsistent for some
stations? For instance, I listen to a Detroit station, WMGC Magic 105.1
FM and initially their logo will display, then it might change to the
tower graphic for awhile, or at times, display the logo for AT40 AM,
even though it's still playing music from Magic 105.1
