Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] New Squeezebox Radio

If squeezebox had both automatic and manual bookmarking and quick 30 second rewind/ffwd and a reasonable podcast discovery/browse UI (the only service for this, mediafly, did not cut it), you could grow the user base for that technology. On-demand audio streams of stuff-that-isn't-music is pretty untapped, and the demand could be there if someone would just cultivate it. Yes, by far most of my listening is Podcasts. Love the bookmarking ideas; they're sorely needed. Personally I wouldn't care much about discovery/browse. KDF's bookmark plugin gets you part of the way there but it's not nearly as nice as it could be (automatic bookmarking is key IMO). No reason this functionality can't exist in the plugin space but without any money driving it it'll never be what it could have been. azinck3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3967 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96188 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm Duration?
Havin_it wrote: Hi, I just bought a SBR with the intention of using it to play a BBC radio stream as my alarm. However, it seems that the alarm cuts off after a certain period of time (1hr or thereabouts, I haven't been poised with a stopwatch yet ;) ). At other times I can play the same station for hours on end, so I don't think it is a connection issue, just designed behaviour. This is annoying. I'd rather it keep playing for at least a few hours unless told otherwise. I don't see anything in the menus; does anyone know if this can be tweaked at the OS level? I have plenty of Linux experience, so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty :) Thanks in advance for any advice. I don't know if the option exists on mysqueezebox.com, but if you're using LMS then it's adjustable via the alarm settings in the web interface: http://screencast.com/t/mk6srfqBeqyi azinck3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3967 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97569 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Havin_it wrote: Hi azinck3, and thanks for the solution! I never thought to look in LMS settings, assumed all available options would be in the on-device UI. SqueezeOS have not implemented a slider control then? :P However, it is still a bit short maxing out at 90min - that's not much better than the default 60min for my use case. I'm happy enough to hack on both LMS and on-device code (since a lot of that seems to be Lua, I have some chance) - which (or both?) would need to be changed to allow larger timeouts (let's say 8h) to be set? I have a taste to look into this myself now, but any shortcuts would still be welcome :) As the help text in the interface indicates, simply set the value to 0 to make it run infinitely. azinck3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3967 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97569 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio refuses to upgrade (downgrade) firmware
I don't have a Radio, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that a slight change was made to the Radio hardware at some point during the production run. The change meant that all Radios with the newer hardware required 7.7+ versions of LMS. I hate to spread misinformation since I can't remember where I read it, but it sure seems like I read it somewhere azinck3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3967 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95401 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Sequentially play multiple podcasts??
hip2b2 wrote: Is there a setting to allow the SB to play a bunch of podcasts? For example, using the Tunein app I can select Car Talk podcasts which bring up a long list of the shows. But, so far, when one is done the SB goes repeats to selection rather than moving to the next installment. Anything to do to change this behavior? Thanks in advance hip I believe on the Radio you press and hold on an item to get the context menu that lets you add to playlist. Add everything you want to listen to to the playlist. azinck3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3967 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97324 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
