Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Dumb Question - How do you connect to the server?

2011-11-04 Thread flattermann

SqueezeCommander will conntect to your localSBS and to MySB at the same
time.
Both servers should show the status 'connected' within
SqueezeCommander.

If that is the case, you can see all players no matter if they are
connected to your local SBS or to MySB.
To switch a player from one server to another, enter the EditMode
(top-left corner in the PlayerServerScreen) and use the
checkboxes/buttons or use DragAndDrop on the player and drop it on
another server.
If you drop it on another *player*, both players should create a Sync
group and play the same music.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Connecting MySqueezeBox Online Remote Control

 squeezebox player? Any ideas...

Your SqueezeBox needs to be connected to MySqueezeBox.com (and not to a
local SqueezeBoxServer).

A player is always connected to exactly ONE server, i.e. it is either
connected to MySB OR to SBS. If it is connected to a local SBS, you
cannot control the player through the MySB website.

In this case, you can use the SBS WebUI to control the player.

No, I don't think so.

But you can probably use a plugin like CustomBrowse to achieve this.

How did you enter the command? That's the way I did it # hostname
 SBR_Janke

You need to put the hostname in the file /etc/hostname, so this command
should work:

Code:

echo SBR_Janke /etc/hostname

PS: You need to restart the Radio once for the change to take effect.

That's strange...

I've tried it again just now on my Radio, and the hostname from
/etc/hostname is taken on subsequent reboots. (I've power cycled the
device)

Of course, the hostname will be reset to Squeezebox after a *factory
reset*.

Is it possible to change the DHCP name for my SBRs? Right now the SBRs
appear as Squeezebox and Squeezebox(2) on the network monitor.
Maybe there is some kind of profile on the SBR, which I could change
 via Telnet?

- Activate SSH (Settings / Advances Settings / Remote Access) and
connect to the box
- edit the file /etc/hostname (e.g. echo MyRadio /etc/hostname)
- Reboot the radio

Is that enough to conclude that I am not using myysqueezebox.com? Or
could I still be hooked into it in spite?

Your players should show up on the status page of your SBS:

I can do this with the SBC and the Boom. Why not with the Radio?
Maybe you can easily switch between the two and I just don't get it...

You can customize the Radio Home menu (Settings / Home menu) and add
the Switch to MSB.com button to it. :-)

Ist es möglich, die SBR ID, welche ich über die Einstellungen der SBR

das in einem Profil des SBR über Telnet anpassen?

Eigentlich sollte der Name der SqueezeBox auch in Deiner
Netzwerkübersicht so auftauchen.

Ich schätze mal es ist ein Caching-Problem in Deinem Router.
Versuche mal, die Fritzbox neu zu starten, vielleicht hilft das schon.
