I'd have to agree on this (as I've said before), I really don't need another remote. Also anything which brings down the cost of the (already pricy) battery is welcome. It's ridiculous to end up with another remote every time you purchase a battery. Imagine Nokia selling you another charger every time you buy a battery. I just can't see the logic in this at all. -- twynne 2 x Booms, 2 x SB3, 1 x Duet, 1 x SB Radio twynne's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1326 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69600 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Another battery-related question: When running on battery power does the Radio display the battery level? Is there a warning when battery level is getting low? I've asked the same thing a few times and not had an answer. However I finally found one in the comments to http://blog.logitech.com/2009/09/03/logitech-unveils-squeezebox-radio-and-squeezebox-touch/ It appears we will get it starting in December according to the Director of Business Development. Thanks John. I found this (mentioning November) as well: http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/products/squeezebox-radio.html#tab3 ... though that could be November for the US. -- twynne 2 x Booms, 2 x SB3, 1 x Duet, 1 x SB Radio twynne's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1326 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69600 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

It's really unlikely that the products will be unbundled, except as replacement parts: https://secure.slimdevices.com/categories.php?category=Accessories That said, the cost of the battery is so much more than the remote that selling them separately probably wouldn't save you much money (if any) at all. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] ETA on battery for Radio?
Dean, care to provide any info on the battery pack? I mean technical info, not marketing info. What are all the wires for? Pin assignments? Is there a thermistor wired onto the pack? It would have been so much more convenient for non-idiots to have had the ability to just insert 10 NiMH AA cells. Of course you'd get the brainiacs burning out the units by inserting alkalines or other non-compatible chemistries. :) US$50 is still way too steep (IMO) for a 10 cell pack. Logitech is taking a play from DeWalt here it seems. ;) At $200 I'd really expect the Radio to come with the pack and remote bundled. Especially if Logitech's manufacturing margins have been streamlined and proportioned in a similar fashion to their Harmony unit (inside info from some employee on that front). That said, I still think the Radio is a good value at $200 and I'm in for at least one to add to my existing setup. Though likely two, as I think one would go very well in our daughter's nursery. And yeah, if Logitech is paying more than $2 for that remote, they're overpaying. -- MelonMonkey Bruno *'Twisted Melon - Fine Mac OS Software' (http://twistedmelon.com)* MelonMonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69600 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
