Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] EU : must shut down and tur on to listen to radios

2011-01-02 Thread slate

I had the same exact experience on 31/12-2010 when MySB Europe went
down.
When MySB came up in the afternoon my radio was unable to connect until
the BIG switch was pulled.

However, the radio is one I just bought for my sister and I have NOT
made a reserved IP for it in my router as I am just running burnin
until it can be handed over; so that could be it. I will make a
reservation and check next time MySB is down.
Everything else have reserved addresses

FYI my sister lives in Spain; Squeezeboxes are hard to find down there
and way cheaper here. Created an account for her on MySB and it has
been running since 23/12 until 31/12 when MySB died.

[SlimDevices: Radio] EU : must shut down and tur on to listen to radios

2011-01-01 Thread sSNICKERSs

Today when I come back I have no favorites, radios... shortcut buttons
make nothing on my Radio (but my Boom is OK !!!). Wifi is OK ! (white
icon)
To solve thos I have to shut down and turn on my Radio and then menus
come back... shortcut buttons are ok.
It is as if my Radio can't connect to mySqueezeBox.com

OK but it last for months for these problems, from time to time it's OK
but they occur to offently in EU. Will they be solved on day ?

Happy new yer !!!

Hi there

Does your router allocate IP addresses to your devices dynamically, or
did you set them (in your router) to be fixed. I ask, because
oftentimes a cause of what you noted is a router reboot, causing new IP
addresses to be dynamically assigned to your devices (and the Radio not
to be able to find the router). As I understand it, the menus on a SB
Radio (but not a Boom) are read from the web, so need a live
connection.

If you're not sure how to allocate fixed IP addresses to your devices,
check your router settings.

Hope this helps

Mark

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] EU : must shut down and tur on to listen to radios

2011-01-01 Thread sSNICKERSs

My router allocates IP dynamically and was ok when i had the problem
with my Radio. No reboot or anything else with it. All my devices
connected to my router exept my Radio was working (wifi or ethernet).

Thank you for your answer.
