Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Remote Control volume bug?

2010-03-26 Thread Muele

Just got my battery and remote yesterday. This bug effectively makes it
a three-button remote: power on/off, pause and most importantly sleep
(I have actually put the remote on my nightstand 10 cm from the Radio
and 30 cm from my head).

I'm not sure that the Radio firmware fix is in the nightly 7.4.3
release. I can verify, however, that it is fixed in the nightly beta
7.5.0 release. Some other features I like in 7.5.0 include ability to
setup automatic re-install of applets when firmware upgraded, as well
as sticky power saving settings on the Controller.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Remote Control volume bug?

2010-03-12 Thread tcutting

I just voted for the bug. Right now I use an extra Boom remote on my
Radio, and this has been an annoyance. Since it will be hard to
differentiate between the Boom remote and Radio remote if there are
slight internal changes, it would be easy to get the wrong one next to
my radio. Hopefully it's something which can be addressed in the Radio
firmware.
Suggest others vote on the bug if it's important to you.

I second that. I've just got my battery today, and after reading this

both remotes.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Remote Control volume bug?

2010-03-11 Thread toby10

They did have this bug fixed at one point during beta testing. My Boom
remote Volume sliding was working fine on my beta Radio.

How and why it is broken again I don't know. Perhaps there is new code
in the Radio that makes accepting the Boom remotes Volume sliding not
possible anymore?

Seems odd it would be that drastic though as all other Boom IR code is
recognized. *shrug*

Understood, but IMO a big mistake not to fix this (eventually). If you
want people to buy multiple SB players then all IR SB remotes should
work with all IR SB players.
Especially if one has both a Boom and Radio where the remotes could
easily be mistaken for each other.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Remote Control volume bug?

I also agree with Toby it must be fixed I will have both remotes and
they look the same.

FYI the jvc remote code does not work with radio, so the popular use
of universal remotes is a bit limited too.

Same remote capabilities as any other squeezebox is the way to go, all
remotes completely interchangeable.

Miscellaneous use: Radio (battery pack to be ordered)
I use a Controller various ir-remotes and a Eee-PC with squeezeplay to
control this

[SlimDevices: Radio] Remote Control volume bug?

2010-02-27 Thread Seminole

I have a Squeezebox Boom and Radio. They both use the same remote
control. I just noticed that to adjust the volume on the Radio you must
push the volume control button one time for every number that you wish
to increase the volume. In other words, to adjust the volume from 10 to
65 you must push the button 55 times. Does anybody else have the same
issue?

Yeah, that's a bug. Same on my Radio r8445

This same issue came up in beta, but was resolved. I guess it's back.
