Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio and LAN

2010-09-17 Thread toby10

I just had this problem switching from WiFi to wired to respond to
another post.
Radio gives me the same "we don't see a DHCP " when trying to
switch to wired via Network > Choose Network > Wired

But a simple power cycle of the Radio solved it for me, connected via
wired automatically upon power up.
Switching back to WiFi worked as expected.

Note: My router does all DHCP handling.

Yep - done that (and have done it before, with other devices and in
other locations!). Just tells me it can't get a DHCP Address. And
Diagnostics confirms it isn't getting an IP via LAN. Thinking that
there maybe other issues, I did a factory reset on the Radio, plus a
forced upgrade to latest software (and checked it could still connect
via Wireless).

Still no DHCP IP Address via LAN.

Odd. Can't quite think what I can fiddle with next.

You did go to Settings / Advanced / Networking / Connect to ethernet
network,
right?

Just plugging a cable in isn't enough.

[SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio and LAN

2010-09-16 Thread agbagb

Having some SB Radio problems to do with rebuffering that I though were
to do with a low-ish wireless signal at one end of the house.

So I tried connecting the SB to my LAN network (D-Link powered, and
installed in every room). Can't get the Radio to collect a DHCP IP
address over the LAN. Tried a couple of laptops in the same LAN socket
- no problems at all.

Any ideas for next steps?
