Is there a cable i can use with which connect my Radio to that Soundbar ? Unfortunately not. HDMI is a digital standard, so you would need a bunch of complicated electronics, including an analog-to-digital converter. The soundbar also has an optical audio input, but the Radio doesn't have a digital output. To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard. A poor option would be to use a Bluetooth audio transmitter adapter on headphone socket and send audio to soundbar using Bluetooth. Otherwise - buy a Touch with optical output or build a small player and control the player from the Radio. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67652 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

pincopallo_it wrote: Thanks for all your replies i have read soundbar has also an analog in does it change anything ? Yes, it does. You should be able to plug in the headphone output of the radio into the analog input, all you need is a standard 3.5mm jack cable. To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard. ccrome2;456350 Wrote: Generally speaking, using a headphone out to drive a line-input will not cause even the slightest degradation in audio. However, if your line-input does not have proper anti-aliasing filters, it could cause an increased noise floor. Typically, this is not much of a problem. Ironically, high-end equipment could suffer more than low-end equipment in this regard because sometimes high-end designers make the mistake of attempting to preserve perfect frequency response to 40kHz or even farther, which only lets more noise into the system without actually improving anything sonically. -Caleb Hi ccrome2, Could you please tell me what is considered proper anti-aliasing filters? I am thinking to get a Harman Kandon stereo receiver (DH-3390) for squeezebox radio, hoping it may improve my music experience with Squeezebox. Now I am using my consumer-grade Philips home theater receiver with Polk Monitor50 speakers. Do you think the 3390 has a proper filter? It would be too costly to get another squeezebox receiver and HK 3490 with digital inputs - and the result may not even be better than the low-end receiver? Here is the manual of 3390 with specshttp://www.esotericsound.com/Electronics/HK_3390_OWNERS_MANUAL.pdf Some people complain the device let any bass signal input so it may sound boomy. It does have separate subwoofer outputs though. So I if you can help, i would be very happy. -- Kitser Kitser's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49601 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67652 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio + External amp?
I recently got a Squeezebox Radio and have tried connecting it via the headphone jack to my surround sound receiver. The headphone jack analog signal is considerably lower in volume (even at max volume) when A/B comparing to a digital signal from my WDTV (playing the same music file). Aside from that, it does work but is not ideal. -- civuck civuck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41276 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67652 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio + External amp?
I have a squeezebox radio that I use to run my whole house sound system. I use the headphone jack output, and then an adapter to convert stereo to mono (because I only have a single speaker in each room) and then that signal gets split. One side of the split is plugged into a small digital amp that powers a speaker in my bedroom and one in my bathroom, and then the other side of the split cable goes into a wireless transmitter (that and the prementioned amp are inside my nightstand) that sends the sound to a wireless receiver/amp in my kitchen pantry that powers a speaker in my kitchen and one in the room with my pool table. All of this is controller using the iPhone app iPeng. It is such a great setup. I just did it all about a month ago and couldn't be more pleased. See attached pictures. If you have any questions on exactly what products I used or about the installation feel free to ask. The sound quality is actually very nice, and it was pretty cheap. The speakers were $70/pair, the amp powering 2 of them was $50, and the wireless transmitter and wireless receiver/amp were about $150 for the set. +---+ |Filename: IMG_3618.JPG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=10812| +---+ -- PWB PWB's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41141 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67652 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio + External amp?
I use the headphone jack to connect to a spare Bose radio for occasional outdoor use. Works fine, though sound level is a bit low. Plus the headphone jack doesn't allow for use with Slacker or Rhapsody (under 7.3). For regular use I would also recommend another SB product. -- jbart1965 jbart1965's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18344 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67652 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
