With the SBT connected to LMS, using the web ui, if you scroll down to
Extras > Music Source, can you connect to mysb.com that way?

I have two SBTs. LMS 7.9 runs on a Windows 10 PC. I can play all radio
stations available through LMS. However, when the PC (and LMS is not
running) I CAN connect to mysqueezebox.com and play those radio stations
on one SBT but CANNOT do the same on the other SBT. Both SBTs are
running 7.8.0.

The SBT that won't connect to mysqueezebox.com will try to connect to
mysqueezebox.com and fail, OR, it will try to connect to the music
folder on the local win machine that had LMS running (and obviously also
fail because LMS is not running).

Thanks Michael.  I checked, it is not blocked.

I am using my home system (Macmini) today, and oddly I am able to
connect to mysqueezebox.com both through the web interface and my
devices. :D
I didn't change anything. :shrug: I'll try my other (away) system next
week.

I'm late to the party here - I don't use mysqueezebox.com all that often
and didn't realize that there was a problem until when I tried to access
it recently. I used it sparingly for some radio stations, and also the
Sound Effects Library app (I use it as a sound machine for the grandkids
to sleep to)
I have 2 systems set up - 

- LMS is running on a 2011 MacMini, with 2 piCoreplayers and a
  Squeezebox Boom. (also Squeezeplayer on an Android)
- LMS running on a picoreplayer with one more piCoreplayer and a
  Squeezebox Radio.
  

- When I select the My Apps/App Gallery menu option from the web
  interface, the error "www.mysqueezebox.com refused to connect." is
  displayed.
- I can login successfully log into www.mysqueezebox.com from my
  wireless macbook.  All of my players are listed, and the few apps that
  I have as well.
- I can remote control the Squeezebox Radio (didn't try the Boom or
  others) from mysqueezebox.com.
- If the Squeezebox Radio library is connected to
  www.mysqueezebox.com, I can access my apps (My Apps/App Gallery).  If
  I change the library to LMS on the piCoreplayer, I get the 'refused to
  connect' error on the Squeezebox radio display when selecting App
  Gallery.
- When I try to login to mysb.com wither through my data plan on the
  phone, or through wireless router (I tried 3 locations - Verizon,
  Xfinity, and Optimum) and receive the same error - "www.mysb.com’s
  server IP address could not be found."
  

I've read through the thread a few times, and I'm not sure what the
solution is - do I need to have MAC addresses cleared :confused: ?
Change DNS settings?  (Each of my routers has a pi-hole connected.  I

Hi until yesterday my sb radio was working fine, yesterday it stops
working after a couple of hours running on batteries, so plugged it in
and start working again.
This morning the wifi signal was red, and whatever I tried it doesn't
want to connect to mysqueezebox.com
I reset it a couple of times, it does connect to wifi but not to
mysqueezebox.com
KINDA STRANGE IT DOESN'T ASK FOR A SQUEEZEBOX ACCOUNT OR PASSWORD IMHO
(OR IS THAT NORMAL)

I can login into the website, finally I removed the device over there, i
removed my account. But my radio does not connect to squeezebox.com 
Of course I tried to reset the SB, reset the router, tried wired,
checked other devices etc.

i'm on firmware 773 r16646

Yes, but a device connected to wifi doesn't mean it can see the
internet. for multiple reasons.
So your Duet and LMS cannot login to MySB.com service, but your computer
can go to MySB.com and login fine?
Did you try my suggestion?  Duet connected to LMS and play a song from
your own music library?

I'd verify your MySB.com password on Duet & Controller & LMS.
LMS > Control Panel > Diagnostics.. what is reported for ALL pings,
ports, IP's?
LMS > Settings > MySB.com.. does it say Login Invalid?

Im connectin by wify, in the controller first try to connect to wifi,
then try to connect to mysqueezebox, and  error...
In Windows application i cant connect with my loggin/password.
In website i connect with any problem...

How do you know it is connecting to internet?  I'd suggest running LMS
and see if you can connect to that by playing from your own music
library.
Then see if you can connect LMS to your MySB.com account.

try Factory reset, delete it in mysqueezebox.com but the squeezebox cant
connect to mysqueezebox.com, i tryed it in two differents account… I
dont know what is the proble, a year ago, all was ok.

Try rebooting your router then reboot Boom.  Just reboots (unplug, plug
back in), not resets.
After a power outage or ISP service glich my Boom (and only my Boom)
refuses to reconnect unless I take the above steps in that sequence.

Assuming it did work before, has anything about your network changed? 
New ISP? New router or wlan access point? Did you re-boot all components 
from the router to wlan to SB? Could you try to use ethernet instead of 
wlan and see whether this makes a difference?

Did you do Factory Reset?  Properly enter your MySB.com login info? 
Specifically select "use different MySB.com account" (not existing

Please post details about what you're trying to do, what you're seeing 
etc. to some Pandora specific thread. This one reads "can not connect to 
mysb" - which you just confirmed did work for you...

setup Pandora, but its been 5+ years since i logged in.  I haven't used
the website up untill a few weeks ago when I decided to try to fix the
issue.   I don't remember if it showed up there before since it been 5+
years since I last logged in..  I just PM'd you.


Are you sure this is the mail you used back in the day? The device 
currently is registered to a yahoo.com address. And it's Pandora 
configuration comes with another mail address - which is the same as the 
Pandora configuration in the account you PMed me. But no two other of 
those mail addresses are alike

I have been using my squeezebox for years without any issues, but for
the last 6+ months, I have had intermittent problems with my squeezebox.
The main issue is that I can't connect to mysqeezebox.com.  
I have done a factory reset and restarted the router, but that didn’t
fix anything.  

I am able to log into the website mysqeezebox.com from a computer on the
same network as the squeezebox.  After logging into the website, I click
on the Player, and it shows "Oops! You don't appear to have any players
registered to this account."

As a potential workaround, I installed Logitech Media server on my home
PC and then tried to connect the squeezebox to the LMS, but when I do
that, I get an error message on the squeezebox saying "player is already
registered to another user"

Firewall

All outgoing ports are open
All incoming ports are blocked.

LMS

Everything is showing ok in the diagnostics tab

Yes you are quite correct, it is ‘not connected’. My firewall section
says Normal and that’s it. I have no idea where to find Ports or what to
do to ‘open’ them or what numbers to open, 9000 from memory, but not
sure why I know that.
Maybe it’s all too hard, but as you say at least I am enjoying it again.

This is a good sugestionfrom *bioss*

I recently had a small problem and reset my router but the problem
remained.

I solved it by returning the router to its factory setting, performed
the the initialisation routine again and was good to go. 

On a further note, I have also experienced the problem of a web site not
being available through any of my installed browsers (I knew the site
was up and running). Tried cache clearing and all sorts and then changed
the DNS setting on the router to Google and was able to connect.

Hi George, if you have changed broadband (isp) suppliers recently then I
suggest to check the firewall settings on the ISP router. I learnt a
lesson that the settings on that router may block some ports that are
used by the SB Radio. You should have received a username and password
to manage these settings on the ISP router. Hope this helps.

I have used the Radio for years. I used to use it with LMS but haven’t

router (same one for last 2 years, but no classics) and wireless
connection. 
There maybe a linkage here, but I don’t know what it is and none my
other devices have had an issue

player.


Have you only used the Radio with mysqueezebox.com?


You don't say if you have LMS installed elsewhere, so I would suggest
first trying the radio with LMS just to see if it still works.


If it does, then follow my previous suggestion of using the LMS web gui
to connect to mysqueezebox.com

the Radio itself?

Can you connect and log in to mysqueezebox.com from a web browser? If
you can, is your Radio showing as a Player and with what status.

Do you have LMS installed on a computer and have you tried to connect
the Radio from the LMS web gui, under "Extras > Music Source >
mysqueezebox.com"

Your location may help if others have the same problem. 

It might be a good idea to disguise your  MAC

I reviewed the firewall settings on my ISP router and removed all Ports
Restrictions and enabled multicast. After a factory reset of my SB
Radio, it connected to the mysqueezebox.com server and I can remotely
control it from the web interface.

Thanks Michael for your support and guiding me in the troubleshooting.
Your prompt feedback give me again confidence that Squeezeboxes still
have a future :-)

Interesting: I'm seeing two Radios in your profile. And both seem to 
have been connected yesterday (according to timestamps in the database).


You mention both wired and wireless connection. Did you test both?

What is your network setup? Are you using DHCP? What is your LAN's DNS? 
What is the device using (see Settings/Advanced/Analysis or similar)?


To be quite honest I believe it's a networking issue on your end. A user 
who can name two DNS providers knows how to tweak stuff. And 
unfortunately this often leads to somewhat broken setups... I don't want 
to blame you. But please double or triple check your network setup is 
correct. Make sure the Radio is using the settings you expect it to use.

Nope.  Bought it brand new at Best Buy several years ago.  It has worked
fine since day one...until a few days ago.


Did something change since then? Eg. firmware update on the router or

After factory reset, connected via cable to my ISP router, the SB Radio
fails to connect to the mysqueezebox.com server on the following
addresses:

34.243.157.154
34.244.221.118
34.245.154.142
34.247.12.245
52.208.195.129
52.215.52.41

TCP port:3483 and 9000

It does connect to my LMS (running on my Synology NAS) and I am able to
load the Favorites from mysqueezebox.com.

However, I cannot switch libraries and connect to mysqueezebox.com

travel is extremely rare.. I have done so successfully a number of
times.  
I've also seen over the years a number of SB users post about regularly
bringing their SB players to their vacation/holiday/weekend homes.

Any private network with a simple encryption pass phrase works fine
(basically every home network).  The public networks requiring a browser
(hotels etc..) won't work because SB players have no browser..

Even then, public networks requiring a browser interface will work if
you use your laptop and tether/network-share your SB player to the
laptop.  Something I'd never both with myself, but entirely doable.  ;)

That's cool if you never leave your home with your radio. Try taking it
to a freind's house, a public space, or on vacation and I think it will
be 100% non-functional.  You've converted it to an "INTRAnet radio" from
its advertized "INTERnet radio".

Awesome that that code was released! Absolutely awesome!

I mean when traveling to visit friends, go on vacation or travel on
business, the radio will not see the LMS because the LMS is not exposed
to it when the radio is on the public internet rather than the home
network... that means that the radio will be useless outside the home if
mysq.com goes dark.

source project, it would bring a tremendous amount of good will and cost
Logitech nothing.

Cannot have been related, as LMS would only be using mysb's web service.

with the web service, but with the direct player connection to mysb.



So, my conclusion is - if mysqueezebox.com goes away at some point, my
radios will not be able to connect to LMS on my PC. Apparently, that
conclusion might be incorrect.

anyway" is not true in all circumstances.


It's not true when you want to use Pandora or some of the other services 
not supported by 3rd parties.



Maybe the reality lies somewhere in between and as Michael noted, I
should put my concern aside and address it when Logitech actually pulls
the proverbial plug.

On Windows you'd have to manipulate the service registration. I've been 
out of the Windows game for a while... I'm not sure whether you could do 
this from the service manager or need to hack the registry.


But that's way off-topic here anyway. Please start your own thread 
asking specific questions. Or just leave it alone until mysb.com has 
gone away. That day that will be a hot topic :-).

connected to the local WIFI and seeing the white antenna icon when
connected?


TBH: I think I've learned this these days, but didn't remember. At some 
point we had more colors. Like yellow was network ok, but no connection 
to server, green was only controller connection, but not streaming etc. 
Today we have white and red only. But they can mean various things...


I think white today is supposed to be "ok". But it's not in all cases. 
Every Radio/Touch has two persistent connections to the server. One is 
for the streaming control ("slimproto"), the other for the UI control 
("jived"). When we had the red type half-connected state, slimproto was 
connected. Players could be controlled using the web UI, but not 
on-device, because jived was not connected. This happened when the 
slimproto service was not reachable from the jived service on some 
instances.


The white type half-connected state we saw more recently was the 
inverse: jived connected, but slimproto somehow not working. The reason 
for this I still haven't figured out. Maybe some load-balancer which had 
not picked up some changes and was still sending slimproto connections 
to dead servers or something.



Any insight on why after the red icon, you got the radios working for
one day then on day two we got the white icon and they were not working
again? What happened?


As I said I'm not sure I understand the second part of the issues we 
had. Maybe it was just an artifact of rebooting/replacing too many 
pieces at the same time.



I really would like to get it documented so that
if you move on in 10 years and our radios stop working, we can point to
the this blog.


I doubt mysb.com will still be around in 10 years when I've moved along. 
At that point you would have to run LMS. Which is a different story, as 
it servers all types of connections itself.

I know you are asking someone else but I wanted to confirm that my two
radios are working great again today and that I sincerely appreciate
your help.  Are you a Logitech employee or independent like us? 

What is the difference between the seeing the red antenna icon when

I can't seem to PM you, but I would truly appreciate your help! After
many years of faithful service, I'm running into the kinds of problems
that others are describing here.

Problem:
The Squeezebox Radio had a white wireless icon but had lost its
favorites, most menus I can only a couple of levels deep, and I am
unable to control it from mysqueezebox.com

Fixes attempted:
I performed a software update, and tried unplugging and replugging the
device in, without any change. Then, I performed a factory reset and
reconnected to my wireless network. I then noticed that mysqueezebox.com
could see that the name of the device had changed to a default name, but
I was still unable to control it or play any music.

My info:
I'm in New York, USA
I have the Squeezebox Radio
Its MAC address is 00:04:20:2a:6d:1b
