Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox keeps on losing connection to reuter
You can also try to change the wireless channel that your router uses. Consult the router's documentation to see how to do this. If all else fails, you can use a network cable instead of wireless. It's very much more reliable. -- Soulkeeper -that is not dead which can eternal lie. and with strange aeons even death may die.- touch + duet + boom + radio / wrt160n/dd-wrt / sbs 7.5.1 or higher/win7(32b)/avira free Soulkeeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35297 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84401 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox keeps on losing connection to reuter
Is your Radio losing connection with router? Or just your server? When it happens make note of the color of the WiFi icon on the Radio screen. Red = not connected to router Blue = connected to router, not connected to server (SBS or MySB.com) White = connected to server (SBS or MySB.com) Also, any chance of IP conflict? It's going red. as for a conflict, I thought all devices using the same internet connection would have the same ip address or should they all be different? -- girl_from_oz girl_from_oz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41227 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84401 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

girl_from_oz;599068 Wrote: It's going red. as for a conflict, I thought all devices using the same internet connection would have the same ip address or should they all be different? Each device on the network (your router) must have a different IP address assigned by the router. The router then uses a single IP address to communicate with your ISP modem and the internet itself. If two devices on your network have the same IP address you can expect such issues as devices disconnecting from the router. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84401 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox keeps on losing connection to reuter
The easiest way may be this: 1) Find the IP of your Radio. 2) Ping the radio (open CMD in Windows and enter ping 111.222.333.444 (substitute the Radio's IP address for 111.222.333.444) to confirm that the Radio answers ping calls. There should be four pings and four replies. 3) Turn the Radio full off, and/or disconnect it from the network. 4) Ping the radio again. If something answers, it's not the radio, which means that another device is using the same IP. -- Soulkeeper -that is not dead which can eternal lie. and with strange aeons even death may die.- touch + duet + boom + radio / wrt160n/dd-wrt / sbs 7.5.1 or higher/win7(32b)/avira free Soulkeeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35297 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84401 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

girl_from_oz;598961 Wrote: Yeah it's saying stuff like microwaves could interfere with my squeezebox Hi there Best way to prove what it is, is to connect (just temporarily) with a cable (ethernet cable, between your router and your SB). If it is stable like that, then try one more time with your wireless connection. That way, you'll be sure if the problem is your home network, or elsewhere.
