I bought one of the originals from a list member a couple weeks ago. Pretty

I saw two on a ride recently. They’re everywhere!

[RBW] Re: Chacos vs. Bedrocks

2019-08-18 Thread Drw
I went from chacos to bedrocks and like them much better. Chacos sole is really
thick. Unnecessarily thick, in my opinion. Bedrocks have a grippier foot
cushion that is still thin enough to feel some connection to the ground, and
the cairn 3D pro’s outsole is definitely thick enough for pretty scrappy
hiking. I’ve taken mine on some hikes I wouldn’t consider bringing chacos on.
Not that chacos would fall apart or anything, but they feel too chunky on my
feet for sandal hiking.

[RBW] Re: Chacos vs. Bedrocks

2019-08-18 Thread Justin, Oakland
Depends on which Bedrocks. The non-3d versions are very very thin compared
to Chacos. Plus the retention doesn't feel as LOCKED IN as Chacos feel. The
toe strap takes some getting used to but in the long run I think they are a
great adventure sandal. I have non-3d Cairns and would definitely get the
Cairn with the thicker sole in the future.

My old Z1's are coming undone at the outsole. I might send them in for

Re: [RBW] Recommend a film camera

2019-08-18 Thread tom coppedge
Another vote for the Yashica T4, if you're looking for a film
point-n-shoot. I got a T4 Super eons ago, and it's def the best
point-n-shoot film camera I've had. Sweet Zeiss glass. When not in use,
the lens retracts, and a handy auto lens cover slides over to protect
it...making the front face of the camera flat, which helps with storage and
pocket-ability.

Re: [RBW] Recommend a film camera

2019-08-18 Thread David Bivins
Good call on the Yashica T4. I didn't recommend it because it is so
expensive, but I actually got one at a street market in Germany for a very
good price (about $150 if I recall correctly). In Europe it was called the
T5.
Others to grab if you see them and they work are the Ricoh R1 series and
Ricoh GR series. Only if they're inexpensive, because they're going to die
at some point. But holy cow if they aren't lovely photo takers in the hands
of someone with a good eye.

2019-08-18 Thread S
My favorite flat bars are the Nitto Kite:
https://global.bluelug.com/nitto-b355-kite-bar-silver.html

If those have too much sweep for you, I also like the Nitto Heron:
https://global.bluelug.com/nitto-b354-heron-bar-silver.html

Both are 630mm wide, maybe not wide enough, so you might consider the
SimWorks Getaround bar, which is 700mm wide. I'm thinking of buying one
myself:
