[RBW] Wonderful Japanese Bike Storage

2022-05-07 Thread John Rinker
Loading my bike in the storage rack at school is almost as pleasurable as
my ride to school.

Wonderful Japanese Bike Storage

 (short
video)

I would love to have one of these in my workshop!

Cheers,
John

Re: [RBW] Jim 7 speed cassette on a triple

2022-05-07 Thread Joe Mullins
This exact setup is going on my Susie once it arrives. I will first try it with
a long cage derailed and no extender and report my findings!

Re: [RBW] How often do you clean your bike after dry dirt road rides?

2022-05-07 Thread Ryan Frahm
I have had very good luck with SCC Slick Tech chain lube. I just wipe my
chain down after or during those rides and it stays clean for a long while
before I just apply more. I’m not great at keeping track of miles but it
does a better job than any other i have tried!

[RBW] Re: Jim 7 speed cassette on a triple

2022-05-07 Thread Garth

The wrap for a 1x Yankeebird is whatever the spread is for the cassette
alone, since there's no other ring there's no additional difference to
account for.

As for clearing the 42t cog, the only thing that matters is that the RD can
clear it alright. The "how" that is done, well there are endless creative
ways to do that with endless RD's ! With extenders you would be able to use
a road RD. I know back in the 70's there was a bike shop in Missoula, MT
that made custom extenders and freewheel cogs using Campy racing RD's I
believe. They were really lng ! You'll be fine with most off the shelf
things you can buy today.

[RBW] Re: Adding photos to Post

2022-05-07 Thread aeroperf
A couple of things to check that I have run into—

There are three dots at the bottom of both your second post and Garth’s
post in this thread.
When you click on that, it expands and shows the post that you are
“replying” to, even if you clicked “Reply all”.
All that is also included in your post.

So maybe you are “replying” to a post that is replying to a post…that each
already have photos attached…and so, your message is too long even if it is
only a couple of words. All that other stuff goes along, and gets credited
to your post.

Easiest way out of that is to put a couple of words or a sentence in your
post window, and check for the three dots in your post window, and click
them to expand, and then delete everything below your couple of words.
That should give you a clean post to work with.

Another thing I’ve found is that you can attach photos with the paperclip,
and that seems to sometimes work better for me on larger photos than the
in-line insertions.

I tried that, resized to smallest size, converted to a link and still got
the too large error. Some people can put multiple photos in their posts.
I can't add anything.

2022-05-07 Thread Garth
If I'm not mistaken there is a size limit to how many mb's per posting. So
if you try to post multiple or even single large photos over a certain
amount, it might be 25mb ?, then you get that message. Just split the
images into single or smaller individual posts. In the case of an overly
large photo, you must downsize it first.

I put a t rack on my Clem for this exact reason. Supports a Wald nicely & I can

I have been using a Dell desktop running windows 10 an edge browser, also
have a Macbook Pro running Monterey. Doesn't seem to matter what I use, if
I put a photo in the post, I get the message too long error.
I can't find anything in my Google groups settings that will change things.
Some posts have multiple photos in them.
Is there something in membership settings that would cause this problem?
Sitting home on a rainy Saturday, getting ready to change some water in my
aquarium and work on my garage addition permit drawings.
