[RBW] Cheviot!?

2014-01-19 Thread Christopher Mungioli
So what's the story with the new Cheviot? There still isn't a description
up on the site, and just from looking at pictures its hard to tell what
makes it that much different from a betty foy, so why the change? Anyone
have the details?

[RBW] Re: Cheviot!?

2014-01-20 Thread Christopher Mungioli
Thanks!

But while the blug has some nice pics and a lot of information about sheep
and the color scheme, it doesn't explain why the switch was made from the
betty foy, and what if anything is different between the two models.

It kind of looks to me like the diaga-tube is straight to the seat stay,
but is that really the case?
and is there some difference with the chain stay length?

Guess I was looking for a more technical explanation.

[RBW] Re: Cheviot!?

2014-01-27 Thread Christopher Mungioli
So are there any plans to make bigger racks and bags to put on these bikes
with bigger chain stays?

[RBW] Schmidt SON hub VIBRATIONS!

2014-01-27 Thread Christopher Mungioli
I have had a schmidt SON 28 hub on my bike for a little over a year now,
and until the other day there had never been a problem. I loved it, the
light is so bright and hassle free, no batteries and everything so
wonderful.

Then last night on my way home I noticed a low pitched vibrating noise
coming from my front wheel. Though it was the tire rubbing on the fender
stays or something, and finally took the hole thing apart and put it back
together, and it still vibrated, like a pitch fork (only noise no movement
in the bars or anything).

Even attached the wheel with the fenders and everything taken off and it
still made a vibrating noise.

Anyone ever had something like this happen before? Any ideas on how to fix
it?

Thanks

[RBW] Re: WTB: Front lowrider rack

2014-01-29 Thread Christopher Mungioli

I have one of these sitting in the closet I would be willing to part with.
The big square attatchments for the bags can be removed easily while
leaving the main rack on the bike when you aren't using the panniers. Same
great nitto quality as all the other riv racks.

Let me know if your interested.

I have a 58 bullmoose bosco I'd be willing to sell if you you're looking
for something more heavy duty.

[RBW] Re: Any metal fenders have QR like longboards?

2014-02-12 Thread Christopher Mungioli
Your question is one I often ask myself too. Love the look of metal
fenders, but...

The thing is recently I wonder about the danger difference, since while
plastic fenders with QRs might not have the wheel jam at the fender stay,
if something gets in there big enough to lock the wheel wouldn't it just
roll up to the fork blades and jam you there? Like a stick or something
big that would stick out of the wheel.

Is there something that I am missing there?

[RBW] Re: Grant's Overseas Trip - What do you want?

2014-03-18 Thread Christopher Mungioli

attach your light wiring with hemp twine! Still not as clean as braze ons
or internal, but its another option to zip ties for those who want a little
classier look.

some good tires too.

Thanks
