IMO, you cannot go wrong with TB14 rims. They are beautiful and bomb-proof. My LBS is a big fan. Thanks! The stem is a Crust bikes fillet-brazed chromoly threadless stem. You can't get them in this length right now unfortunately. The shim would definitely make it look like brifters. My goal with this build was to make a light fixed gear bike that looked classic but with all new components. I succeeded I think. 18 lbs of glorious lugged Reynolds steel. I’ve used the Tiagras, basic Tektros, and TRP RRLs. The TRPs are the most comfortable for me and look pretty. I will wholeheartedly second the recommendation for a Tilley hat. I initially balked at the price tag because I couldn’t how a Hat could be worth that much. But since I’ve owned it I have found it is worth every penny. Somehow the longer it’s on your head the more comfortable it becomes even when you are hot and sweating. It offers excellent sun protection. You can get it wet And it even floats. It’s easy to wash, you can crumple it up and it doesn’t lose it’s form. Worth every penny! [RBW] CL outing: vintage Rivendell Baggins large seat bag and panniers
I have connection to the seller, but these should be of interest to this group. I would buy them but I am about to unload my Baggins handlebar and medium size seat bag. Buy these and mine and get the whole set LOL. Doug Bloch Alameda CA USA https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bop/d/ultra-rare-rivendell-seat-bag/6665855947.html Ultra Rare! Rivendell seat bag, largest size, waxed cotton - $80 (lower haight) Used but in good, if not great, condition. Waxed cotton, water resistant (not waterproof), largest size they made. Works best with a rack for more stability. Fits a lot of stuff. Rivendell does not make these anymore and this style is rare for sure. Every time I used this someone would stop me and ask about it. Every time. Haha. It's weird. Used less than 40 times. Rivendell bags, and bikes, are legendary for quality and craftsmanship. <https://images.craigslist.org/00707_et4429lzq2t_600x450.jpg> <https://images.craigslist.org/01515_ldAjqcRo7iY_600x450.jpg> https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bop/d/ultra-rare-rivendell-panniers/6665855790.html Ultra rare! Rivendell panniers. Waxed cotton. - $100 (lower haight) Used but in good, if not great, condition. How do you judge that anyhow? In use less than 20x. Still water resistant. Not waterproof. Still has the Alder branch tie-down. These things are rare for real. If you do not know Rivendell or their bikes and bags look em up. Legendary. Every time I used them someone on the road would ask me about them. Killer style. Was over $200 new.. <https://images.craigslist.org/01010_5hi4UKQV6zf_600x450.jpg> <https://images.craigslist.org/00606_i2TKBUBXnSG_600x450.jpg> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Yes I am selling a 1976 Motobecane Grand Jubilé with the long cage and everyone wants me to part it out. Not to hijack the thread though, so as to the topic I second the vote for Suntour derailleurs. I run the Cyclone on my bike with Simplex Retrofriction shifter in a 1x6 setup. I have VGT Luxe long cage RD, FD, and downtube shifters I'd let go for a reasonable price. I had a heart attack when I saw this pop up on CL. Almost ran across the Bay Bridge to snatch it up but alas I have nowhere near the funds to buy it. What a beautiful bike -- good luck selling it! [RBW] Re: Giving up on my Cambium C17
My experience? B17 was comfortable right out of the box. Brooks Pro does take a lot longer to break in as some others said. Cambium felt hard and inflexible, and that was disappointing because I really wanted to like it. I would still like to try a carved one though. Used B17s can be had for cheap on Craigslist and they have a good resale value. Give one a try! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
