[RBW] Re: FS(Bay Area): 58? Quickbeam

2022-03-04 Thread diekaiser
Alright,

Last call everyone. Just deciding if I should bring the Quickbeam with me
on the roadtrip. Happy to drop off anywhere along the way. Again, I'll be
heading up to the Eugene, OR area from San Luis Obispo, CA. Once I get back
I'll post again when I have enough time to box it up for shipping (if
anyone were interested).

Thanks all,

Jason (in SLO)

[RBW] Re: FS(Bay Area): 58? Quickbeam

2022-03-02 Thread diekaiser
Hey all, since I'm heading up to Oregon I wanted to open it up to anyone
that may be interested along my route. I'll be heading up to Brookings, OR
from San Francisco on Sunday or Monday. Then up to Scottsberg, OR (3 hours
south of PDX/45 mins from Eugene) on Tuesday. I'll be there for most of the
week until I head back home - likely Friday/Saturday. I'd be happy to drive
a bit to make someone's journey a bit shorter. If there are no takers I'll
consider shipping once I get back home, but my March and April are pretty
busy.

Here are the details again:
56cm Quickbeam
Tange Levin headset
Shimano BB
Nitto 83 seat post
36h Dura-Ace 7600 track hubs (fixed/fixed)
White Industries 19t freewheel
36h Velocity Atlas rims (non-machined)
700x38 Panaracer Gravelking EXTs (if you would like them).

Alright, I can confirm it's a 56. Sorry folks! And thank you Christopher
for pointing this out. The standover from the catalog was throwing me off
since I didn't catch the note that it was measured at "mid TT". Maybe this
will open up the flood gates to all those 56 riders 拾.

Hey Christopher, yea I was wondering about this exact thing as I acquired
it from Miles (my good friend from the thread above) shortly after he got
it. I suppose with only the 1/2cm difference in top tube length between the
56/58 models that I may have read the tape incorrectly and in fact, made
the same mistake as the original owner/seller. I'm going to go measure
again out of curiosity and will post my findings.

Anyone out there with a 58 able to measure their head tube?

Thanks Matt. I agree, I rather like the more "aggressive unracers" of old.

On a side note, and maybe a bit random, if anyone has any Canon FD related
hardware (mainly lenses) I would be interested in a potential trade! Let's
say something more exotic than a 50mm 1.4. I realized there may be some
overlap in interests here.

[RBW] FS(Bay Area): 58? Quickbeam

2022-02-28 Thread diekaiser
Hey all. With regret, I'm selling my Quickbeam. Unfortunately living in a
studio doesn't accommodate owning 4+ bikes and the Quickbeam didn't make
the cut. I'm heading up to SF on March 5th for a birthday roadtrip to
Oregon and will be there for the weekend if you would like to check it out.

I was having a hard time figuring out which size model it is from the Riv
catalogs but it has a 57cm top tube and a 56cm seat tube (I measured center
to center) which I believe puts it at the 58cm model.

Sale includes Frame, fork, headset, bottom bracket, seat post, and wheel
set. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare set of brakes as they are moving
to a different bike along with the crankset. I figured the cockpit would be
purely preferential. With that said, I have a selection of nitto bars if
someone would like to inquire.

I'd say the condition is great as in there are no dents, large scratches,
etc but the decals are a bit scratched up from locking etc. The only other
thing that I didn't know about when I bought it was that the front-left
fender eyelet may be stripped. I'll investigate more closely soon but just
wanted to mention it.

*Details*
Tange Levin headset
Shimano BB (I don't remember the exact width but I believe it is the one
that came stock)
Nitto 83 seat post
36h Dura-Ace 7600 track hubs (fixed/fixed)
White Industries 19t freewheel
36h Velocity Atlas rims (non-machined)
700x38 Panaracer Gravelking EXTs (if you would like them).

$1300, but if that doesn't sound reasonable I'm more than happy to chat
about it.

Here are some photos of the different iterations in which it has been set up
.

I'll add some more detail photos to the same link shortly.

[RBW] WTB - Smallish panniers for front rack

2021-01-27 Thread diekaiser
Not sure exactly what I want but something "smallish" in the front pannier
department. I'd also be interested in hearing others' recommendations! I
saw a set of the Ruthworks panniers not-so-long ago and they looked really
nice but I could also roll with something as simple as Jandd.

Let me know if you have anything or, if you want to post some photos of
your own setups I'd be interested in the inspiration.

I'm currently running a Nitto 34f front rack but recently saw a mark's hub
area rack on CL that I unfortunately missed out on. If I did stumble across
another I would likely be interested in that setup as well.

Thanks all!

Re: [RBW] How large of a tire will a Sam Hillborne actually fit

2020-11-09 Thread diekaiser
I have Vittoria Terreno Dry (47) on a Cliffhanger rim and I have minimal
clearance in the rear at the brake bridge. Also, the Paul Mini Motos mini
cable is ever so close to the tire tread. I also ran the same setup on
Velocity Quills and it was a little bit better in both the brake bridge and
brake cable clearance of the Mini Motos. I've also ran the GravelKing 1.9's
(non-slick) on both the Cliffhangers and Quills. Again, minimal clearance,
but it rolled.

Mark, I just saw yours pop on Instagram the other day and thought it looked
great!

Yea! I saw yours Jason. There is some obvious overlap in our setups and I was
scoping yours out in the month leading up to building mine. I just need to
figure out the crankset situation as I would prefer a wide range double. I
could buy VBC rings in the preferred format but that would be as much as a new
crankset so I have yet to decide. Should get it on a longer ride this weekend
and will report back with photos and updates.

I agree 100%. I probably wouldn’t have purchased if this particular color
didn’t pop up at a great deal.

Thanks Roberta! I have yet to put any serious miles(only to work and back)
but so far it rides wonderfully. Excited for some country road riding.
