[RBW] FS: Rivendell SimpleOne
FOR SALE: Selling my lightly used Rivendell SimpleOne. I purchased this frameset from Rivendell (with BB and headset) and built it up as a “multi-geared-single-speed”. It has a 20/22-tooth White Industries Dos Eno dual freewheel in the rear, and Shimano 600 crankset with dual chainrings (38/42-tooth). The SimpleOne has angled rear slide dropouts designed to allow for multiple wheel positions without the need to adjust the brake pads. The result: You have 4 separate gear ratio configurations to choose from, one at a time (of course). Overall condition is very good; only slightly worn-in. There are a few minor nicks & wear marks where the green paint has worn down to underlying primer; NO bare metal or rust; Honestly I’d call these “beausage” marks. It’s a beautiful green and cream color combo. I’ve loved riding this bike, but am seriously downsizing the stable, and I really haven’t ridden this very much. The gearing combo gives you several options for different terrain/riding style. Bike Setup: Frame: SimpleOne frameset (60cm) Stem: Specialized stem 120mm reach Handlebar: VO Grand Cru Ranndonneur bars 44cm wide Brakes: Tektro canti brakes w/SunTour Superbe levers. Front Dynamo Hub: Shimano DH-3N72 6v 3w 36h Rear hub: Origin8 36h flip flop fixie/freewheel w/White Industries Dos Uno 20/22t freewheel and 17t fixed cog Rims: Alex DM18 700c eyeletted rims w/straight gauge stainless spokes Tires: Schwalbe Century 700c x 35c green whitewalls (great for on/off road) Crank: Shimano 600 175mm with 42/38t chainrings Saddle: Brooks B17 Narrow (like new, still needs breaking in) B Eyc LED front light (included, not installed) B 4D-lite plus w/standlight (included, not installed) Price is $1200. If you know this bike, you know it rides like a dream. This is ready to go, for day or night riding. Pick up in Lambertville NJ / New Hope PA area; will drive up to 2 hours to meet; potential option to deliver in New England area. Strongly prefer to NOT ship. [RBW] FS: Rivendell Simpleone (58 cm) with Rohloff Speedhub
I am selling my wonderful RBW Simpleone that Cycle Monkey converted for me from a single speed bicycle to a Rohloff Speedhub driven bike with 14 spaced separated gears. I had seen that Cycle Monkey had made a similar conversion for another Simpleone owner. Since I first learned of Rohloff, I was fascinated by the Speedhub. It’s truly a marvel of German engineering: https://www.rohloff.de/en/. I knew that world tourers commonly ride bikes with Speedhubs because they are bullet-proof. I had always had as a cycling goal to ride the Great Allegheny Passage/C Canal paths for years, which seemed like a perfect reason to convert my Simpleone. I did, I rode, I had an amazing time, I never looked back. I’m probably not going on another long tour again soon, if ever. The GAP/C were about 350 miles and it took me a year and a half to prepare. Day rides and S24Os are now my main cycling pleasures so I’m offering up my Rohloff Simpleone. Here’s a Rivendell Blug link about the Simpleone: https://rivbike.tumblr.com/post/2349569449/simpleone-update-december-17-2010 Here’s a Cycle Monky link about the conversion: https://www.cyclemonkey.com/blog/rohloff-equipped-rivendell-simpleone My Simpleone is in near perfect condition. You can find several photos here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13V_EPZ_RttiEHXfQsV7iib51JaOx7jLn?usp=sharing. I include a couple of photos that show some nicks but, really, nothing is hidden. The bike is fitted out with high-end components which are reflected in the price. I will consider any reasonable offer. Here’s the build: Frame: 58cm Rivendell Simpleone Drive: Silver Rohloff Speedhub with preferred external gear mechanism, Giles Berthoud shifter and threaded axle Bottom Bracket: Rivendell standard, likely a Shimano UN55 Handlebars: Nitto Albatross Alloy with leather Brooks knockoff grips (Origin8) and Brooks leather tape Brakes/Levers: Paul Components Touring Cantilevers with Pau Componentsl Canti Lever Levers Stem: Nitto Technomic 100mm Headset: Standard Rivendell, likely FSA Seatpost: Nitto S83, two-bolt Hubs: rear-Rohloff Speedhub; front-Shutter Precision SV-8 Dynamo Hub Lights: rear-B Secula; front-B+M Eyc T Senso Wheels: rims-700c Velocity Dyad; tires-Compass (Rene Herse) Barlow Pass 700cx38 standard, gumwall; butted spokes, fenders-Velo Orange Snakeskin Rack: front-Nitto M12 Asking Price: $2,250, saddle excluded but shipping included -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] FS: Rivendell SimpleOne 60cm
For Sale to a Good Home Rivendell SimpleOne 60cm. This is a nice bike that I bought new and have ridden less than two hundred miles... all with fenders. I am selling it because I have more bikes than space (or time to ride). Seeing all of the Riv Single Speed love around here lately, I thought now might be a good time to offer. One issue with the frame: The local shop that built this bike for me followed the instructions included with the Pletscher kickstand and installed the clamp thing instead of using the perfectly good kickstand plate. I later removed the clamp to discover two small dimples on the tops of the chain stays (grrr). These do not appear to present a problem, but I took a few pictures of the stays to try to show them. If they are an issue for you, be aware they are there. Otherwise, (and overall), the bike looks great. Paint is good. There is a chip on one of the seat stays (in pictures)... might be a nick or scratch somewhere I haven’t seen, but the frame looks nearly new to me (with a little mud splatter). Here are pictures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/111008098@N08/sets/72157638995517545/ Feel free to ask any questions, or ask for any specific part to be photographed. Right now, the bike is not quite complete (although it is close. It was built up and ridden 100 ish miles this past Summer). It is as pictured... missing handlebars, stem, pedals, seat. Build: Stock Riv BB/headset/seatpost. Frame treated with Boeshield as demonstrated by Riv with BB temporarily removed. FSA Vero crankset sold by Riv. 175mm arms. Currently running a Surly 48T ring plus USA-made bashguard. I will include the original FSA 40T ring with guard as well. Brake Cables are Jagwire. Housings are “maize” color... kind of a flat gold. Looks great with the green bike imho. Brakes: Tektro CR720s. 200mi. Brake levers: Diacompe GranCompe. These are the modern ones from VO. Just like the ones they currently sell, but these are not drilled (like the current ones are). Wheels: These are a great set. They came from a QB. I have put less than 200 miles on them. Here is a description from the seller who sold them to me: Rear wheel is a new 32 H Velocity Synergy rim laced to a Suzue free/free (only one of its kind ) hub. 120 mm spacing. Hub was recently re-built and has seen no use since rebuild. Spins smooth Front wheel is a used 32 H Mavic Open pro rim laced to Ultegra hub. Unknown mileage, but also spins smooth. Bike Includes installed SKS silver fenders, and spiffy front Rivendell mudflap. Tires: Light color Schwalbe Deta Cruisers 200mi. Currently the bike has no handlebars, saddle, bottle holder, pedals, or stem, (brake levers are dangling). On this list, I assume people have an idea of what they want... so maybe I can help get you what you need. Here are some possibilities. 1. I could sell it as it came from Riv as F/F/BB/HS/SP.- $675+shipping OBO. If you want, add the FSA 175mm crankset (as attached) for another $50. 2. I could sell it as-is... largely complete with drivetrain, wheels, brakes, fenders, dangling DiaCompe levers, NO stem, bars, saddle, pedals. -$950+shipping OBO. 3. If you want a complete bike, we could probably work something out. I have some Albas, and FL750s, and a nearly new B17. 4. Make me an offer for what you want. I am willing to drive 100ish miles (from central Ohio) to meet or deliver the bike... or I will box and ship. Note that boxing and assembling or disassembling will take a few days. I could probably ship Saturday. Also note: shipping just the F/F/BB/HS/SP is probably the best deal. It is likely a LOT cheaper than the whole bike (especially if you are on the West coast). That said, I can pack and ship the whole thing. Thanks for reading! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] FS: Rivendell Simpleone 62cm frameset (located in Ontario, Canada)
Hello RivBunchers, I purchased this frameset from Rivendell exactly a year ago, then built it and rode it some over the summer. I have decided to go with a Sam Hillborne for its longer top tube and more lax seat tube angle, so am selling the Simpleone one to make room. I have taken good care of it and treated it with RustCheck before build-up. Geometry is available here: http://tinyurl.com/cj7k88j Rivbike infopage here: http://www.rivbike.com/SimpleOne-p/f-simpleone.htm Asking $725 + Shipping. I will post pictures shortly and have some extra parts available if the buyer needs something for the build. Please message me with questions, trades, offers, etc. Thank you and have a good ride, Matt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group.
