[RBW] FS: Quickbeam 62 cm complete $1600

2023-06-16 Thread John G.
Howdy, Bunch!

It's been a while. I've been busy with my toddler and my newborn and my
riding time has really scaled back. It will return to normal in the future,
but in the meantime, I'm moving on a few things from my stable, including
my nicely-appointed 62cm Green Quickbeam.

- Phil Wood hubs laced to Dyads (Riv-built, I think)
- Paul cantis
- the Sugino double crankset with chain guard they typically spec'd on
early builds
- old school mustache bars, shellacked with newbaums. The tape is excellent
shape.
- Rene Herse 35mm tires with less than 200 miles on them
- pretty new chain and cog. Maybe about ~500 miles
- Nitto seatpost.

Saddle height in pics is ~79.5 cm. Paint is in great shape, aside from a
scratch on the top tube. No dings or dents. I'll ship it in the box from my
2021 Homer. If you want to calculate shipping costs, I'm in the metro NYC
area in NJ.

[RBW] FS: Quickbeam Orange 56 - $1250 plus shipping

2022-07-31 Thread Valerie Yates

Have you always wanted a Quickbeam? This orange size 56 QB has great
components and is priced to sell. I purchased it used from a list member in
2016. I’ve ridden it lightly since then, mainly as a townie/errand bike
with a small rack and front basket. As anyone who has ridden one will tell
you, it is a super-fun ride. The Bosco Bullmoose bars are great for
leverage. Has beausage appropriate for its age, including paint chips and
scratches, some covered with nail polish. The decal on the downtube is
deteriorating. Lots of pictures here
.

Price depends on options, described below.

$1250 (net to me) for the bike complete as shown, *minus pedals, saddle,
and seatpost*, and *plus shipping* (or free local pickup). This includes
the following:

Bosco Bullmoose Handlebars 54

Misha Cork Grips with shellack

Tektro Brake Levers

Front brakes– Paul neo-retro cantis

Rear brakes– Paul touring cantis

Crankset: Sugino triple 170 with chain guard-40-32

Wheels: polished SunRims CR 18 with Paul high flange black hubs and DT
black spokes

White Industries Dos Eno freewheel 17/19 (red) and Miche Technology (made
in Italy) 16 tooth fixed on the flip side. These have worked great in my
hilly neighborhood.

Tires: Compass 700-32 Stampede Pass (lots of life left in them)

Saddle and seatpost – not included. It takes a 27.2 seat post.

If there’s not interest in it as shown, I can offer some flexibility to
reduce the price. I love the Bosco bullmoose handlebars so if you are
planning a different cockpit, I will reduce the price by $150 if we
exclude handlebars, brake levers, and grips.

For boxing and shipping, I will pay to have it professionally packed by my
LBS, a bike flights partner. Buyer to arrange and pay for the shipping /
insurance directly with bike flights, who will pick up the bike from my
LBS.

Happy to answer any questions either by reply to this thread or by email.
Interested in buying? Send me an email and let’s work out the details.

[RBW] FS-Quickbeam 60 cm, multi geared, $1350

2018-09-04 Thread 'Deacon Patrick' via RBW Owners Bunch
Wow! Almost worth it for the Dingle Cog alone! They don’t make those anymore,
and the 17-21 is now a mythic creature. Grin. Someone is gonna love this bike!

Brooks leather bar wrap, lots of beausage.

[RBW] FS: Quickbeam wheelset and Nitto Tallux+ Dove Handlebar

2017-11-18 Thread Christopher Murray
Hello,

Final two items for sale.

Rivendell Quickbeam wheelset. I bought these from a list member and never used
them. These are the wheels that came on the first batch of Quickbeams. They
have the special Japanese made for Rivendell Suzue free/free quick release
hubs and Araya TX310F rims. They have brand new tubes and brand new Paselas
(700x32). They are straight and true. I was told they had a few hundred miles
on them. Asking $150 shipped

Nitto 10cm Tallux stem and Nitto Dove bar. Stem is 25.4 clamp and 10cm length.
The Dove bar was sold by Rivendell as a city/commuter bar. It does not fit bar
end shifters. There is yellow cloth tape and a sub-par twine (no shellac). The
stem has been inserted to the max height line and bars had brake levers put on
and removed. Zero miles on either. A great singlespeed or commuter option.
Asking $70 shipped.

Let me know if there are any questions.

Cheers!
Chris

[RBW] FS: Quickbeam 54cm Silver

2016-11-20 Thread dstein
I have a 54 silver quickbeam that I haven't ridden it in months which makes
me think it should go to a better home. I acquired this off a fellow list
member 2 years ago (local in Bay Area) and have primarily used this as an
all rounder with a yepp mini up front for toting around my 2 year old who
is now 3 and weighs to much for the front seat - hence why I'm not really
using this bike a whole lot anymore, pretty much 90% of the minimal riding
I did on this is less than .5 mile trips to the park with her on it. She
uses her balance bike now and I just walk. Took on a 20 mile ride in the
oakland hills once and a ~30 mile ride with some other list members in west
marin another time, seriously put less than 200 miles on it in 2 years.

The list member I got it from got it from another list member, so its 3rd
gen, maybe 4th. Great condition though. No stickers and 2 small chips on
the top tube shown in the pictures. I have some stickers I got from
Rivendell but they're for the orange and green quickbeams, not the silver
one, so I never put them on, and i kind of like it like it is but thats a
personal preference.

I have it setup with soma oxford bars (same shape as albatross). 4 geared
(white industries duo 16x19 in the rear and a sugino 40x32 crank).

I paid $750 for the f/f/h, wheelset, pasela tires, and seat post. I then
added brake levers (~$40), nitto technomic stem ($40), sugino double crank
($146), white industries dos ($125), and soma oxford bars ($59), which add
$410, or $1160 total (all with little wear).

$1000 local pickup in the bay area, $1100 shipped. Will consider parting it
out (at a minimum I want to sell the frame/fork and wheelset).

Pictures (rack, basket, pedals, and saddle not included, though all
negotiable):

[RBW] FS: Quickbeam, 60cm, green

2015-03-16 Thread qwerty
Hi Folks,
I've had a great run with the Quickbeam, but need to severely downsize
and thin the herd. First up for sale is my complete Quickbeam. It's
obviously been ridden a fair amount but remains in very good
condition. Everything's original except for saddle (VO sprung), bars
(Nitto Dirtdrop RM013, 52 cm wide), and brake levers (Tektro Ergo
style). I've also added a White Ind 17/19 freewheel.

Known issues:
Early on, I used a cheap no-name fixed cog with a pretty narrow number
of threads. After a few rides, and one with lots of climbing, the
threads stripped. Lesson learned about cheap fixed cogs! I was able
to subsequently use a freewheel on this same side with no issues. Of
course the opposite side of the hub is fine for either fixed or
freewheel.

There is a small dent in the headtube just below the headbadge. I
think it had to be there originally, because there is no damage to the
paint, and I certainly don't recall contact with anything which would
have caused it. It's only noticeable when the light hits it just
right. See the three photos of the headtube area.

There is another small paint chip on the upper left seat stay. See photo.

Extras include an HPX pump which I rattle can painted to a very close
match. SKS fenders 45mm wide, and a pair of gold colored bottle
cages.

PHOTOS: https://flickr.com/photos/55639583@N04/sets/72157650979316748

I'm asking $1000 (PayPal) which includes shipping to the CONUS.

[RBW] FS: Quickbeam,Simpleone 58cm Kinda Quickbeam, Waterford/Gunnar and Phil Wood wheelset.

2014-02-24 Thread hobie
Thought I'd post this frameset here as it is somewhat related to a
Rivendell. After all Waterford does build for Rivendell. I wanted a
Quickbeam and could never find one in my size. Riv had stopped having them
made by Panasonic. I decided to have Waterford/Gunnar build me a
Singlespeed frameset. I was fortunate that Richard Schwinn took my order of
this custom frameset. It is a modified Crosshairs 58cm w. horizontal
dropouts spaced 130mm. The color is battleship gray. I wanted to get as
close to the Hunquapillar in color as possible. It is not a lugged frame
although the custom Waterford 22-Series fork is. The fork is a 1" threaded
w. at the time brand new Dura ace headset. The frame also has the maximum
head tube extension allowed w.27mm worth of spacers. Get those handlebars
up high! It has 2 water bottle bosses, 2 front eyelets at dropouts w.
lawyer lips. rear eyelets at dropout, rack attachments on seat stays. The
fork also has the attachments for a Riv Marks Rack placed at the correct
distance. This was recommended by Richard Schwinn. The frame can handle up
to 40mm tires with fenders. I have done a few 100 milers on this bike. It
is quick, and comfortable! The tubing is not the standard Crosshairs,
but "OS" again recommended by Richard Schwinn. He said it smooths out the
ride. Boy was he correct. The top tube is 28.6 (1 1/8"), the down tube is
31.8 (1 1/4"), and the seat tube is 28.6 (1 1/8"). Takes a 27.2 seatpost.
The top tube slopes upward slightly. The frameset is just over a year old
although I have not ridden it in about 4-5 months. I have frame saved it 4
times. Comes w. a pair of Tektro 559 extra long reach sidepull brakes,New
SKS Commuter II fenders, black never used. I had intentions of turning this
into a 2-speed w. the wonderful Schlumph crankset from Cycle monkey. There
are a few options that could be done with this frame. The Schlumph is one.
2 would be an internal geared hub, although it is 130 spacing it could be
cold set to 132.5. The other option is a 650B conversion. Can't see why it
wouldn't work with Grand Bois Hetres 650b. Maybe the finest tires I've ever
ridden. The paint is in excellent condition with some chainsuck marks. I
covered that w. clear nail polish to prevent any rust. This is a wonderful
frameset that rides superbly. My riding for the most part has shifted to
MTN. biking. So this frameset needs a lovin home. The frame cost $1,250,
the Waterford lugged fork cost $375. I'm asking $800. plus actual shipping
for the frameset w. headset, new SKS fenders, Tektro 559 brakes. Below you
can find the excellent rolling Phil Wood wheelset w. White Industries
freewheel that I used for this frame. Email me off list for photos and
offers or text me 917 968 5664

Phil Wood Wheelset, handbuilt by Phil Wood. Yes that is correct Phil Wood
laced these. The front hub is a Silver high flange Phil laced to a
Silver Mavic Open Pro 32 hole, Phil Wood straight gauge spokes. All silver
in color. The rear is a 130 spaced Phil freewheel hub laced to same spoke
hole configuration all silver also. Comes with Rox rim tape. Both hubs are
bolt on, not skewers. Also included is a White Industries Eno freewheel
18T. Excellent rolling, strong made wheel set. Tracks very straight and
true!! Asking $340. plus actual shipping. Email me off list for photos and
offers. Or text me 917 968 5664.

Hi David - I've seen this bike on your site. Coincidentally, I grew up in
Moorhead, and my mom still lives in Fargo. I make it up there from the Twin
Cities every once in a while. I bet we probably even know some of the same

I have the exact model Quickbeam, but the seatpost got stuck from multiple

Would you take $750 cash and local pickup? No fuss, no muss?
