[RBW] Re: FS: Rivendell All Rounder ridden less than 10 times!

2018-10-03 Thread Joe Bernard
It was custom in the sense that you had to order your size and wait, kinda like
the current Waterford frames. You're right about choosing paint, which was a
great benefit. The spec sheet someone posted in this thread shows that you
could order a non-stock size for a $300 upcharge; I think the one you're
selling is the stock 53cm A/R.

Which is a great bike, I'm just commenting on how all this worked back in the
day as I recall it.

I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet, but maybe people are struggling with buying
another bike right now same as I am. Somebody buy this before I do!

Re: [RBW] Re: FS: Rivendell All Rounder ridden less than 10 times!

2018-10-03 Thread Kenneth Peyton
Hi,
Thank you Kevin for the background. That helps explain the
peculiarities of the Waterford built well-used All Rounder I bought from
Mt. Airy Bicyles about 4 years ago. It has a thinner seatpost, for
example. It had a few dents; a little rust, and I had to change post and
stem to get it to fit. It must be about the same size as yours. I really
like it. I paid $2,000. Hope you get a good buyer.
Best,
Ken P., Alexandria, Va.

[RBW] Re: FS: Rivendell All Rounder ridden less than 10 times!

2018-10-03 Thread kevin spicher
To those that are interested, please keep in mind this is a Waterford
Rivendell, and if memory serves me correctly, they were all custom. In
1997/1998 you could not drive over to Riv and pick up a frame. They were
built to your size, specs, color, lug paint details, etc. You put down a
deposit and waited while it was hand built and hand painted. When it
arrived at Riv they built it up with the parts you chose from their
catalog. This was our process. I was sized at Riv by Grant, I believe my
wife was as well.

There have been a lot of questions about size, and I realize this is very
important, but top tube length and standover height should be enough detail
to determine if this bike will fit. A lot of adjustments can be made with
saddle height, stem length, stem height, crank length etc.

If you are interested, please make an offer, I will take the post down on
Fri.
Thanks

This is my wifes bike, she is 5'7" 32" inseam.

I'm selling it for her because she is not interested in riding it and
she would like to sell it.

Will ship if buyer pays shipping, and details how and where bike is to
be shipped from (specific bike shop etc.)

Bike is located in Phoenix AZ

 $1500.00 or best offer.

2018-10-01 Thread kevin spicher
I don't remember the frame size, but using my phone and a tape measure I
came up with the following measurements...
STA -17
HTA -16
SOH 30 1/2"
TTL 20"

As I mentioned earlier in the first post, my wife is 5' 7" 32" inseam.

Hey Kevin,

Looks like a great bike, but you'll want to include your location and your
willingness (or lack of) to ship. Also, my browser doesn't know what an
.HEIC file is, so I can only see upside down thumbnail pictures which are
not click-able. A few updates to your ad will go a long way in finding this
bike a new home.
