[RBW] Re: How to best mount a light on a Mark's Rack?

2010-07-28 Thread BartF
Thank you all.

Centered on the front looks ideal to me.

It's a Supernova e3, but I rationalize it by being an all year
commuter.

Thanks again, off to the hardware store.

My attempts at secure mounting haven't panned out. The light is either
not far forward enough to my liking or not secure enough.

  Thanks in advance.

Here are some photos of a BM light attached to my QB, which at the
time had a Mark's PlatRack (works the same on just the Mark's w/o the
PR):

I modified a piece of rack mounting hardware I had in my toolbox to
accomplish this. I really like the positioning - it's centered, not
too hard to reach to turn on/off, and seems to throw the beam well.

Good luck,

I mount a pair of DiNotte lights to a section of handlebar mounted to
the front of the rack. You can see it in the last three photos in
this album http://gallery.me.com/mhechmer#100029

Have you tried one of these?

I ordered one of those thingies. Took the nut off the nitto rack nut
bolt and washer thingy, slipped thingy A onto the bolt part of thingy
B. Reinstalled the bolt, put on the light. NOTE! You'll need to take
the whatchamacallit off the lamp, might could use the bolt from it
though.
