[RBW] Re: How was your PBP?
It was an amazing experience. I rode my A. Homer Hilsen. The ride report is posted on the page as a new topic. Ditto...awesome report. A few days ago I asked my wife what we were doing in four years and told her about about PBP. Went to dinner with in-laws a bit later and they started asking about this crazy race in France that I was going to do. I may have committed myself...or I need to be committed! Thanks, all! And if you're interested at all in randonneuring or long-distance cycling (or currently ride crazy long brevets) -- PBP is the event to go that will validate all of the low points you'll hit / will ever hit during a ride. It really lived up to the hype. Such a magical event! Cheers, Jenny -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. I missed Jenny's post, so glad I caught this one. Jenny: very well written and photographed. Your sideways approach gives at least this reader more social context for the ride. I was surprised and pleased to see a contingent from India (what a huge difference 50 years has made!) and from the Philippines (my mother's country). Someone told me that the average age of PBP riders is 55: is this accurate? What sort of gearing (chainrings X cogs) is typical? Patrick Moore, who will always and only be a vicarious brevet rider. Jenny, Great Job! I went straight to the food pics. I was in Paris in April for a different endeavor (marathon!) and can appreciate how wonderful simple foods become after such a physical effort!
