[RBW] Re: Identifying a potential 'Rivendell'
It looks like a Blue Bike to me. It may not be a Rivendell, but I suppose we could give it honorary membership; after all, the cables *are* held to the frame with zip ties. [RBW] Re: Identifying a potential 'Rivendell'
Considering the British bits on it and the lack of cable guides for routing the rear brake cable, I'd guess it was likely from the 1970's, possibly brought over from the UK. Hard to guess the quality of the bike, but the lugs are quite plain, so possibly not considered high end in its day. Might ride well, which would be the main thing. Ian A. For more general, non-RBW models, I'd post these to the iBob list if you have not already. - Jim On Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 9:26:53 AM UTC-8, Alex Clarke wrote: > > Hey Guys, > > I was hoping someone could help me identify this bicycle I have, I have > been told it is a Rambouillet but I am not 100% sure or convince. [RBW] Re: Identifying a potential 'Rivendell'
I come down pretty solidly on the "no way" side. Quickest bit of data would be the lugs - those are highly pointed "can opener" lugs which GP always eschewed. You should do some comparisons to this page: http://www.cyclofiend.com/Images/rbw/ram_08.jpg And then roll through the Rambouillets here: http://www.cyclofiend.com/rbw/rambouillet/ - J On Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 9:26:53 AM UTC-8, Alex Clarke wrote: > > Hey Guys, > > I was hoping someone could help me identify this bicycle I have, I have > been told it is a Rambouillet but I am not 100% sure or convince.
