Update:

C17 didn't work for me - too wide in the crotch.

C17 is pear shaped, not more T shaped like a B17, and the sloping crotch 
area is totally different than a B17 design. Makes for alot of width in the 
crothc/upper thigh areas. So, like all saddles, it is just a matter of 
anatomy and what fits who best. Worth the experiment just to get the 
Cambium curiosity out of my system.

If a C15 doesn;t work, I will stick to my Flyers and maybe even try a 
B17Narrow one day.

I haven't used a suspension seatpost since circa 1997 or -8, but I do
recall using a CODA -- elastomer -- with a Softride stem on a rigid
Performance ti mtb frame. For stutter bumps and other high frequency, low
amplitude roughnesses, both together gave a really Cadillac ride. But I
returned the CODA when it started squeaking regularly.

I've come across riders who swore by the Thudbuster.

I did try a Champion Flyer on a rigid mtb. The springs were too stiff; I
might as well have been riding a B 17 (170-175 lb rider), at least with the
somewhat forward and low bar that I used.

I never had problems attaching a Carradice Junior to the springs of the
Flyer, though.

The kalloy brochure that came with post says the MDU damper unit is rated for 
10 a year life cycle.
2 year warranty for post.

Brett-

The cheap ones that are often found on comfort/hybrid bikes definitely had
a limited lifespan.  As a shop wrench, I've encountered many that are
stuck, bottomed out, or otherwise inoperative.

I even inherited a free bike once (a so-so Spec Crossroads) due to the
suspension post.
It was abandoned in my yard, and I found out *why* when I tried to test
ride it.   The seat swivelled like a bar stool!!  This was because the
races in the cheapo suspension seatpost had given up.  It was a lot of fun
to dare people to ride it in that condition, it was impossible to pedal or
balance.

However, Lum may have found one of better quality (aftermarket it generally
better than OEM) so I can't speak to his.  Seems like a good solution,
while the seatpost lasts.
