People always seem to need a uniform to wear for some reason. Tweed could be nice, I guess. Me, I'm still stuck in the hippie 60's and pre- disco 70's. I was already a cyclist then, and I just wore whatever I had that seemed comfortable. I still do to this day. Of course, my kids think I look like an idiot, because the younger generations are much more consumerized than I ever was. They have to have the right clothes, the right brands, etc. I ride a lot, almost strictly as a road bike rider, and I only have two items of genuine cycling clothing... a pair of shorts my wife bought for me at a Salvation Army thrift store, and a cycling windbreaker that came later from the same store. Sometimes, I wear them. I think that some of the stuff Rivendell sells would be great though. But please, don't bother looking for this idiot at either tweed rides or roadie group rides. Wasn't there an article in the Reader a few years back (5ish?) about Tweed and its grandeur? I think he/Grant even said he was going to go out and buy a new tweed coat before it was too late.
