[RBW] Re: Why Rivendell Riders are good People

2010-12-07 Thread Michael_S
Had to look the one up.. labrum- part of the shoulder.

Sorry to hear about your crash and a new bike too. I agree, everyone
I've met through the Rivendell is very nice and well mannered.
I especially appreciate the "bike as a tool" attitude. Too may other
groups think nothing of driving their car 20 miles just to ride it.

[RBW] Re: Why Rivendell Riders are good People

2010-12-07 Thread Benedikt
I see people 3 or 4 times a year with (bike) problems and ask if they
need anything. I've had people ask me too. It's not all cyclists, or
maybe even Rivendell people, but there's a certain type that stop and
you can tell them just by looking at them.

[RBW] Re: Why Rivendell Riders are good People

2010-12-07 Thread Esteban
Great that you fished something positive out of a tumble. Glad you're
OK.

The other day I was riding up Montezuma Rd toward SDSU, which is not
steep, but generally no fun. There was a fellow on a loaded LHT who
was riding way ahead of me, and by the time I caught him, he was
walking his rig. As I passed him, I asked - "you OK? Got what you
need?" And the glare from him could have gone through steel. As I
passed, I realized he was just tired.

Surly, indeed.

[RBW] Re: Why Rivendell Riders are good People

2010-12-07 Thread Jim Cloud
Over the years I've had a couple of accidents while riding a bicycle.
In both instances I was given very kind assistance by passing
pedestrians or auto drivers. I never underestimate the kindness of
others, I think most people are really disposed to be helpful when
they see someone injured in an accident.
