I wondered if that linkd to the A-bars would work ... Chris, Flickr isn't cooperating with that link for me, could you post another? I'm intrigued about your Trek 650B project, I've just about wrapped up my own... a 1982 715 (85% certain of the model) that now sports 650B wheels and 42mm Hetres (extra legre!). I ride the bike a ton for commuting and recreation and just did some mixed offroad gravel stuff a couple weeks ago where the fat tires showed there worth. Two things I'm considering now are getting a frame builder to 'dimple' the chain stays giving me a bit more clearance for the fat rubber, and also looking at the fork rake. I'm not thrilled with the light steering, I'd not call it unstable, but it does require more attention than I would like. I've got some pictures of it up here; http://dr2dc.blogspot.com/2013/07/state-of-trek.html On Saturday, August 10, 2013 11:43:43 AM UTC-4, Chris Halasz wrote: > > Had upside down albas on the Bleriot. > > CCame to prefer them on a 650b Trek conversion project. > > Going to be trying albastaches next in the Bombadil. > > http://m.flickr.com/lightbox?id=3456027280 > > Chris > Tucson,AZ (soon). > > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Re: [RBW] Re: Anyone done a metric century or longer on Albas?
I ride all around on a b17 with Albas. I don't go that far usually, but when I did 35 or so recently... slowly so there was a lot of time in the saddle, hour 4 (I said slowly) felt better than hour 1! Had upside down albas on the Bleriot. CCame to prefer them on a 650b Trek conversion project. Going to be trying albastaches next in the Bombadil. http://m.flickr.com/lightbox?id=3456027280 Chris Tucson,AZ (soon). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Re: [RBW] Re: Anyone done a metric century or longer on Albas?
B67 and upside down Alba's... I've done up to 50 miles recently, no gloves and then again with gloves. Climbing out if the saddle feels pretty natural with my hands back towards the bar ends though I've done it from the 'hooks' to. I like the inverted setup so good I don't want to Mrs with it, looks cool to! Tony -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. B-17 (not just with Albas - pretty much with everything). Re: [RBW] Re: Anyone done a metric century or longer on Albas?
I stand up all the time with Albas. As long as the stem is out a bit more than drops, I find them almost easier to stand with. Extra room and leverage.
