Well I'm not leaving the list. I feel strongly about my position, I just think it was placed in the wrong forum. "White knighting" is the same bollocks as "virtue signaling"..it places the blame on the person who objects to something happening that was wrong. I'm not going to play that game. I said I was sorry for bringing it here and that's all you're going to get. Accept it or deem me a jerk. I think “I should’ve DM’d that guy” is the wrong moral to draw from this story. There was some hilariously inappropriate white knight shit going down across the board, and if that came at me offline, I would post it all publicly and leave the list. Also, I don't think Chris is a bad guy, I just think he had a thought in the middle of a busy day that maybe needed more editing before Send. I've done it a hundred times so I get it. Yes, I agree I should have gone after this offline. I apologise to everyone for doing it here, and for my language. In hindsight I propose that others consider attacking or or questioning each other in PM’s. Regarding Canti Sams is there any talk of a 66cm + version for us 100PBH individuals? Or does that shift me back to the AHH vs Sam post. Love this List just not the occasional squabbling over perception vs reality as we each interpret things differently and from our own bias perspectives based on our experiences, beliefs, and personal life long learning journeys. Re: [RBW] Re: Lovely Bicycle
I'm sorry, it just bothers me that we were celebrating Velouria's return and it turned into this ridiculous crap. Now I've got this guy on PM calling me "a sad little man", which is just perfect. Yeah, I'm sad that Velouria might search her blog name and find that some guy was put out because she didn't notify him of her emergency circumstances and now won't read her stuff anymore. That is never going to be ok in my brain. I'm funny that way and I'm out. Goodnight. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. Re: [RBW] Re: Lovely Bicycle
Agreed. My brother died suddenly six years ago. I had some people respond similarly to Christopher when I wasn’t able to complete some reviews on the website I wrote for at the time. They subsequently were reprimanded by their bosses and blackballed by some news sites for their behavior (not at my request). Not a pretty situation but insensitivity and entitlement is pretty ugly. Rule one of life: don’t be a jerk. If someone else tells you that you came off like a jerk then own that you caused someone else to feel that way, self examine and move on. No one is saying you are an across the board horrid human. You messed up. You own. You make amends. You move on. I have manfully resisted comment here, but I will add my agreement to Mark's, with the further addition that perhaps Christopher might have considered that LB could indeed have undergone something traumatic enough to put her off this particular blog in a very sudden manner. But yes, I think that, while Christopher may not have been 100% fault free in his comments, I also think that any fault in such comments amounted to no more than, say (takes out his calculator) 5%.
