I'm pretty sure that I'm up for it, as long as it doesn't bug anyone that I'd be the slowest one up the hill. I'll get to the top eventually. The only weekend that doesn't work for me is August 14 - 16. Reid --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. hello, july 31st (as well as august dates) would work well. it looks like i can probably carpool to the start with my friend. caltrain would have worked well as far as public transport goes ... perhaps the start could be near one of those stops in case other car- less riders want to join. :) brooke On Jul 4, 3:25 pm, Christopher Paul wrote: > Greetings, > > August 9th I'm riding from Sunnyvale to San Luis Obispo. Greetings, August 9th I'm riding from Sunnyvale to San Luis Obispo. I'll be riding a tandem with my 8 yr old boy. The mileage will vary from 40-60 miles per day with stops for waterfalls, animals, volcanic plugs and other unique sights. I'm always up for a s24o. I'm flexible as to distance and pace and also am familiar with Pacific Coast rides and places to camp. I prefer to eat out as I don't cook or like to carry cooking stuff. OK, roll call time. Anyone from the Peninsula area (let's say, San Jose to Redwood City, more or less) who is interested in a sub-24 overnight, email me. Let me know what your schedule is, and what destinations appeal to you. I'm interested. I would vote for Foothills Park if someone in Palo Alto can come through--I'm in Mt View. I'm a bike camping newbie--tried Half Moon Bay with a small group last October and really liked it, but it's a tougher trip (big hill in both directions) from my place than I like to do for an overnight at my current fitness level. For a sub-48 if it's possible to stay 2 days... This weekend I'm going to Uvas Canyon (Morgan Hill) with a small group from the Almaden cycling club. I will report back... Grant Ranch sounds good--wonder if we could use light rail or Caltrain for part of the trip through San Jose if the group is not too large. I could probably be talked into most of these suggestions, including Half-Moon Bay. --Adele Newman Anne Paulson wrote: > On Thu, Jun 11, 2009 at 9:56 AM, Bill Rhea wrote: > >> Is there a campground at the top of Page Mill? Is there a campground at the top of Page Mill? Are you thinking of Black Mouintain (http://www.openspace.org/activities/ ideas_for_campers.asp)? Another possibility could be to descend on the hike n' bike at Half Moon Bay SP. There is also camping in Portola State Park, but it is a mighty steep climb coming out... I think the biggest barrier to getting out for an S24H is the whole "need a reservation" thing (besides securing a quick furlough from parental responsibiities). Anybody else on the SF peninsula have S24H spots they're willing to divulge? BTW, this looks to be the last summer of cheap and always available bike 'n hike accomodations in CA state parks, since they're all going to close due to the failure of our state govt to fix the budget disaster This is tragic. I've GOT to get away for at least a 3-4 nighter this summer while I still can -br --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
