The holes you see in the front panel are used to keep the back/sides in place. The back/sides of the unit have been removed to show the inner workings, with all primary components shown in the photo. There is only some point-to-point wiring below the base you see, with a couple of resistors. When i get home ill look it up in my RCA tube manual... maybe there will be a clue in it, like frequency range or gain... A quick Google search shows its a triode that only has 4 pins... Im genuinely curious what needs amplification and a tuned circuit but isnt related to radio or audio... Ok. Heres my new theory then. The multi-tap shielded inductor, the variable capacitor and one tube form a Hartley oscillator. Of course that leaves a second tube and potentiometer unaccounted for.
