[TANKS] Re: about time I got off my butt and started working on my tanks again

2009-01-26 Thread Mike Mangus
Very nice build! I've been looking at that tank for quite a while thinking to
make it the next project after the Merkava. Looks like someone beat me to it!
:)

Though if it was me, I would put in a simple elevate system instead of trying
to reproduce the tilting suspension system. Thought it would be neat to see a
model with the full size's suspension. :)

That tank is every lowrider's dream vehicle. Heh.

Tom,

Not sure of the mounts, but will post pictures as they develop.
The motors are
http://secure.oatleyelectronics.com//product_info.php?cPath=53&products_id=192
, slightly over the required speed but what the hey, speed is good,
I have a C6C mod 1, which will work for the short term, but I
intend for it to be run WIFI like a tiger and Hummer we have all seen (yes I
will try to pouch technology). Further pictures of my tanks are at
www.angelfire.com/mech/sherman .

What kind of mounts are you going to use for the motors?
They look pretty big and pre-geared. Any specs?

Yes it has been a couple of years since I last did some work on my

I have changed my plans (2 years will do that) and will build a
steel frame inside the tank to mount the suspension and motors too.
