[RE-wrenches] Manual Two Way (Bypass) DC Transfer Switch
Has anyone come across a 600v dc rated two way bypass transfer switch? I am designing an ac coupled system and would like to have the non-battery inverter's array available for the battery inverter if the utility goes down for an extended period of time (hurricane or ice storm). I can do it with two dc disconnect switches as long as they are operated in proper sequence, but I thought a bypass switch would be more fool proof or safer for the owner. Thanks for any leads. [RE-wrenches] Power Quality
I would like to follow up on a discussion of under what conditions an anti-islanding compliant inverter would have problems with the utility power quality and off grid inverters would have with generator-derived power quality. I think that Bill Brooks pointed to a document a while ago about transient events, and we all know (or should know) the +/- 10% VAC and +/- 0.1 Hz requirements. Bill would you be so kind as to point us there again? What I would like to understand is the following: Is there a power quality analyzer (e.g. Fluke 430 Series II) out there can asses power quality and predict compatibility with the various grid-tied and off grid inverters? What I imagine is a follows: -- Fire up an generator (e.g. Honda Eu3000iS), load it down with a reasonable resistive load (e.g. 1,500 kW), and look for VAC, freq, harmonic distortion, transients -- and come up with a way to assess whether or not an off-grid inverter would work with the generator. -- Monitor utility power and provide the same answer for grid-tied inverter. - Peter Parrish Peter T. Dear All, In 26 years of dealing with all manner of solar distributors, from solar pool heating to solar hot water to PV, I have never, ever, ever met any company anywhere or at any time that even comes close to the GREAT customer service we am getting from SunPower. Day or night we can call with design, order or Internet questions and some articulate person will be on the phone, talking to us live and answering any question we may have right there on the spot. Additionally, they are constantly providing training webinars and workshops on every facet surrounding photovoltaics. We have only carried the SunPower product for about 2 years. We love the product and we love that quality so sorely lacking everywhere else... Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious customer service. We Love SunPower!
