Re: [RE-wrenches] Cell phone based relay control

2023-03-13 Thread Michael Morningstar via RE-wrenches
Sure thing. Todd Cory turned me on to this. Thanks Todd!

chrome-extension://oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm/
https://www.7thgenerationdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/fire-WEEDS.pdf

I spaced sprayers 3' from corners, and then every 8'

My hydro penstock feeds 10K gallons of buried concrete cisterns that sit
400' above my home. They supply the WEEDS system. When the system is
activated, it uses about 30GPM. I also have a diesel water pump that drafts
off of a year round creek that will "backfeed" the water supply. It is
activated by a WebRelay also. Each year I invite our local wildland fire
crews up and get them familiarized with the system (It can be manually
actuated) and the locations of two other steel 10K tanks w/ hose reels,
situated by our shops. I also have cell phone surveillance cameras, one on
a mountain above us that is dialed into our drainage, and one looking out
the rear door, where a fire would be coming from. This is so that if I'm
out in the field and a fire takes off, either myself, family, friends, or
neighbors that get notice of a fire can take a look at the camera feeds and
start the system if need be.

It's a sight to behold. The entire house is enveloped in a vertical wall of
water.

I'm including a picture showing the line circling the eaves. Not shown, are
the 6" brass nipples w/ shrub heads which I was reinstalling last Spring. I
remove them each fall so snow doesn't tear them off.

Pro tip: There are only two manufacturers of brass shrub sprayers that
offer a flat 360 pattern. Arrow and Orbit. The Orbit's are garbage.

Hi allI guess I didn’t use the right terminology for my question. I’m looking for a cell phone controlled relay at the remote site that can be controlled via the computer at my desk or an app. There is no local network or internet at the remote site, just cell service. The one Larry suggested looks good and I’ll check it out more. ThxJayOn Mar 13, 2023, at 2:35 PM, Michael Morningstar via RE-wrenches wrote:WebRelay. Hi again, Wrenches. I should have included this in my last admin email:

It is totally fine to ask the list for specific pieces of equipment that you
might need. You never can tell what kind of old stock Wrench members might have

Suggest something like this:

Hi folks. Contact me off list if you have any questions or concerns.

This is our occasional reminder not to offer equipment on the Wrench List. Like
posting jobs and referrals, it is considered off-topic.

All those are allowed on the RE-Markets list. But note that the Markets list
membership is comprised of more than Wrench list members.

[RE-wrenches] Electrical Stock - Cheap

2023-03-13 Thread Robert Nuese via RE-wrenches
Hello Fellow PVers,

It’s struck me that I need to stop carrying solar equipment onto roofs, and
crawling in crawlspaces, before I fall off, or can’t crawl out. I’m going to
try to make a living with SLD drawing, consulting, etc. So I’m getting rid of
a storage unit full of 22 years of electrical parts. Cheap. Conduit fittings.
Wire. Odds. Ends. No modules or working inverters. Much of it mint - for very
cheap. Some not so mint for super cheap or free. So if you are anywhere near
Healdsburg CA, you might benefit. Please contact be off-list.
