Hi August,

I was told Tesla has LFP battery now. True? Thanks !

It is going to be a tough product for others to compete with - the
price point is low and features are high. 4 x MPPTs with low tracking
voltage (60 VDC), built in consumption monitoring, one SKU to handle
7.6 kW, 5.7 kW, 5 kW, 3.8 kW AC rating via software programming, built
in ethernet/WiFi/cellular and the rapid shutdown can meet the NEC
hazard control system requirements meaning that only one Mid-Circuit
Interrupter (MCI) is needed for every three modules. All in all, a
solid offering with lots of design flexibility. Time will tell how
reliable they are.

I have not had reason to use string inverters because, other than
Solar Edge, they do not offer intrinsic rapid shutdown. Careful
reading of the NEC indicates that even ground mount arrays require RSS
unless the PV feeders run to a building with the sole use being to
house solar equipment. Having said that, I would imagine that if an
inverter were mounted on the ground-mount rack, the requirement for
RSS could be avoided.

What are you wrenches that used to install the SB-41 units

[RE-wrenches] Solarworld Warranty Claims Through Sunpower

2024-01-10 Thread Sam Haraldson via RE-wrenches
Wrenches,

A colleague is inquiring about how to proceed with Solarworld warranty
claims after its 2018 acquisition of the Solarworld brand. If anyone can
provide successes or failures along those lines I would appreciate being
able to share that info with my colleague. If I am able to determine more
detail elsewhere and anyone on this list would like to have that info
shared with them please let me know off-list.

Sincerely,
Sam
