Re: [RE-wrenches] SolarWorld Poly
The PPSI [Photon Photovoltaic Stock Index] in the magazines most recent issue shows that the stock value of SolarWorld AG has dropped 51.6% since Jan. 1, 2010. I'm sure this has something to do with the modules 'makeover'. http://www.photon-magazine.com/ Jim Duncan North Texas Renewable Energy -Original Message- From: re-wrenches-boun...@lists.re-wrenches.org [mailto:re-wrenches-boun...@lists.re-wrenches.org]On Behalf Of William Miller Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2011 8:18 PM To: RE-wrenches Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] SolarWorld Poly Friends: I got my hands on the first of the new poly modules today. I agree, we just received our first ones too on Wednesday, and the reflectivity is ridiculous. I have Arco 16-200's, Siemen's M75's, Shell's too here, all top notch. This Poly series is a real down grade in SolarWorld quality for sure. Re: [RE-wrenches] SolarWorld Poly
Bill, I was afraid of that! One thing I didn't mention earlier is that the old-style frame widths of the Mono have some significant variation from end to end. This makes it difficult to maintain a nice even gap between rows. The newer Poly frames (top-down only) seem to have a much tighter tolerance on the square dimensions. I still like the Mono style better, but it sounds like we will have to adapt... We did also have two freight-damaged shipments. This is mostly an issue caused by a careless forklift operator but the factory distributors are also cutting corners with the packaging. If you see receive a pallet that looks like this, https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/_23bAMmghhHRqFjEzsOtkyibeFbxo7C9BtDVyGYSu5g?feat=directlink I suggest you refuse delivery and let the shipper deal with the freight claim. What a pain that is! Otherwise, no failures yet.
