Much much appreciated,

part of the Open Text Social Communities. In the Delivery Server part
of the project you can see how the HTTP connector is being used/
configured to talk to the Collaboration Server (=Social Communities

Hint: You can use the out of the box portlets to do Social things or
use the HTTP connector and create you application(s) from scratch. I
really would like to advise you to use the HTPP connector instead of
 the portlets!

Re: V11 release date?

2011-12-16 Thread Tiffany
Along with easily managed folder structures, drag and drop into the
text editor directly would be a dream for images and documents.
Like wordpress 3.3

Thanks guys.

removed from the 11.1 roadmap. (Don´t know whether this was due to

11.0 should primary bring healty improvements under the hood. (64-

stability and minor UI-improvements. (And improved development-
efficiency for future releases.) Also hope to the new/improved asset

2005. In 2012 i´d like to see a improved UI and some more features
(e.g. more than one subfolder-level; upload multiple files at once
without SmartTree-access). And yes we are able to integrate
specialized Digital Asset Management (DAM) - Systems, but i think the
out-of-the-box simplified Asset Manager - DAM should also bring a
 basic up-to-date featureset.)

V11 release date?

2011-12-09 Thread Tiffany
I was in NYC for a user group meeting end of September. At that time
they had said v11 (Swan) would be released early December. Has anyone
heard anything about the release and if the date has been moved back?
I am particularly interested in seeing the improvements for the asset

Anyways, I just tested a sample project (one content class, one page,
with simple plain HTML) using latest version of Firefox, right click
works.  Can you try the same thing on your end.  If that works then
the problem is not with the editing environment, but the project
 implementation.

If project implementation, then I have 2 tricks I can suggest, but
 more on those after test.

V10 makes it easier than ever for users to Create Unlinked Pages. I

My question is why would anyone want to create an unlinked page? Is
there a good reason for it? Won't unlinked pages cause navigation and
publication issues? Why does OT offer this option? And why is the
default for this turned on?

Any insight would be helpful, as I am wondering if I am overlooking a

From experience, page export and page import contain many uncertain

 Page export:
-export following pages with mainlink only?

 Page import:
-what if page already exist, new page or replace existing page?
-content class of page becomes shared content class from original
 project
-what if page already exist somewhere else, new page or replace

Re: Collapsible panel how to

2011-09-26 Thread Tiffany
A bunch of our CMS sites use jquery accordions (ex
http://www.has.vcu.edu/prospective.html
)
To CMS these, I disable the jquery in RedDot. Then I use containers
for each section.
I never show accordions, tabs, or many other jquery effects in the CMS
because it tends to confuse our users.
Plus, on this site, http://www.brandcenter.vcu.edu, keeping the jquery
enabled actually interferes with editing content. If you open the
container on the bottom scrolls, the scroller resets. It's very
confusing for content editors.

I also turn off some videos because they don't work properly in the
CMS often times.

So I would say - not and overkill.

Is this overkill and should we just show effects like Accordion in

Re: Collapsible panel how to

2011-09-26 Thread Tiffany
As a further note, what I have been doing recently is just the
opposite - intentionally using jquery to make RedDot functions more
intuitive. I built slider panels inside a project so that the users
can show/hide edit via form and show/hide extended help options. For
one project I enabled a javascript chat. And another has drag and drop
features added to enhance the CMS experience. Obviously all these are
set to not publish in the template.

  -choose Properties
  -choose Storage
-look for Row Count and Index Space
(our 'Row Count' was 1.5 million rows and our 'Index Space' was at
500MB, to give you some frame of reference)

To check fragmentation on your table:
--select your project database, right click it, new query
--the query is: DBCC SHOWCONTIG (IO_PGE)
  --execute
(our Scan Density came back at almost 0% and our 'Logical Scan
Fragmentation' came back at 99%, for reference.
Ideally you'd want these numbers reversed.ScanDensity should be

To rebuild IO_PGE table index while online (i.e.- not affecting your

  -go to your project database
-right click on project database name
  -choose New Query
  -enter:
ALTER INDEX ALL ON IO_PGE REBUILD WITH(ONLINE = ON)

  DBCC SHOWCONTIG (IO_PGE)

Now it will have reindexed and show your *new* fragmentation info.
You want Logical Scan Fragmentation to be as close as possible to 0.
You want Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count]. as close as possible
  to 100.

Check the index size again. Row size won't change but index size
should be somewhat reduced. Ours went from 500+ MB to around 350MB.
Also when you do DBCC SHOWCONTIG (IO_PGE) you should see siginificant
  difference.
After reindexing our IO_PGE, our 'Scan Density' went from about 0.3%
to 97.5%. Our 'Logican Scan Fragmentation' went from 99% to 0.36%.

Be sure to repeat the above process for each of these frequently used
  tables:
  --IO_PAG (pages table)
  --IO_PAG_LGV (Language-dependent pages table)
  --IO_PGE (Page elements table)
--IO_VAL_LGV (Page element content, language-dependent table)
  --IO_VER_LGV (Page versions, language-dependent table)

   resolved the issues for us.

Also, although very helpful most of the time, RedDot Support never
mentioned this to us - and it would have saved me a great deal of time
and frustration if they had. I'm posting it here in case someone else
   has this same issue.

Environment: CMS 7.5 on Windows Server with SQL 2005 database

   Problem:
RD export kept running and dying without finishing. I would start it
at 4pm and the following morning it was still trying to run (17 hours)
and kept our project locked up so that editors could not get in.
Checked RD Export log. It ran until it reached IO_PGE. At this
   point, it stopped.

Checked table IO_PGE in our production project - this is a table that
maintains all of your Element information. Itt was using 500 MB
*just* for indexing that table. The table itself showed 99%
fragmentation. Not good. Learned from the web page given below that
IO_PGE Is a very frequently used table in RedDot and therefore it
should be getting RE INDEXED frequently to prevent this very problem
from happening. Our project has been running since 2006 without any
reindexing so clearly that was the issue. We were of course never
instructed to do this by the vendor or our consulting firm as a
necessary part of maintenance - so we had to 'learn the hard way'.

   Resolution:
We reindexed the 6 most frequently used table in our most heavily used
RedDot project so that they don’t become enormous and slow down
performance on the whole system. This took about 30 minutes or less
and did not lock out any users nor did it stop the system. Apparently
with SQL 2005, you can do an online reindex - reindexing while your
users are actively using the tables/database.

Also, our DBA put a script in place that checks all the databases on
this server WEEKLY to ensure none go over a specific index size and
none become highly fragmented again. This should be done regularly by
everyone who runs a SQL Server in order to maximize performance and as
part of general housekeeping tasks for RedDot.

   Result:
After the reindexing, our export ran quickly and was successfully
completed in a matter of minutes.

   Specific Instructions:

The below is copied from an IT department page at South East Missouri
State University (thank you, SEMO.edu for putting this great resource
online!) There is a TON of great information on this website - very
   helpful!

Same thing again for level 2, you don't need level 2 not selected, you

The reason you are getting pages from both sites is because in level 2 not

Hi Danny, thanks for that. But I really dont get Open Text's naming
strategy. To me it sounds like absolute marketing rubbish thats come
from a bunch of suits in the marketing department who never actually
use the products. Even Microsoft could come up with a better name. No
one, absolutely no one (at least that I know of) calls RedDot 'Open
Text Web Solutions Management Server'. It either just gets called Open
Text or Management Server, but most of the times people just refer to
it as good old RedDot. Its just easier to say, 'hey, can we have the
estimates for the RedDot project' not 'guys, im having trouble logging
into Open Text Web Solutions Management Server'. If Open Text think
people are going to take up names like these they are deluded, and its
a shame they like to brand products with dull and bland corporate
names especially when they used to have catchy titles with character
such as RedDot and Vignette. Open Text can call the Management Server
product server whatever they want but I will keep calling it RedDot.

  Hi all,

The following is a sneek preview of a page that should be live on the Open
  Text site shortly:

Whilst I sympathise with the name change, Open Text needs to differentiate
  the offerings it has.

From the info you can see below, it won't be called Management Management
  Server! ;-)

@Harry - Regarding the Best Practice Project, I will find out the location
of this in the KC and let you know.  In the meantime, I may simply be able
to make it available in thewww.solutionexchange.infoplatform for an easy
to find download.  I will provide more information shortly.

  Regards,

  Dan.

  *RedDot is now Open Text*

On October 2006, Open Text acquired RedDot (as part of its acquisition of
Hummingbird Ltd.). To indicate that RedDot was now part of the Open Text
family of products, we re-branded it to “Open Text Web Solutions.”

In June 2009, Open Text then acquired Vignette Corporation and its Vignette
Content Management product. This event created a potential naming conflict,
because it would not be clear whether the name Open Text Web Solutions
referred to the former RedDot or Vignette product. To reduce the potential
of market confusion, Open Text decided to rename the former RedDot product
from Open Text Web Solutions to Open Text Web Site Management. At the same
time, we decided to rename Vignette Content Management to Open Text Web
  Experience Management.

While both Web Content Management products, Open Text Web Site Management
and Open Text Web Experience Management address different market needs. The
two names are designed to communicate the strength of each product and help
  customers differentiate between them.

     - *Open Text Web Site Management*
  http://websolutions.opentext.com/(formerly Open Text Web Solutions
and RedDot) is a powerful Web site
application that empowers business users to keep content fresh and
  relevant
for Web audiences. It is suited to rapid deployment of featured Web pages
and support for multilingual Web environments. Furthermore, it has
  specific
    integrations to Microsoft
  SharePoint
 http://websolutions.opentext.com/solutions_web_solutions_for_portals_...
  and
  SAP®
    NetWeaver® Portal
 http://websolutions.opentext.com/portal_solutions_web_solutions_for_s...
  ,
improving content richness and facilitating content management in these
    portal applications.
    - *Open Text Web Experience
  Management*
 http://www.opentext.com/2/global/sol-products/pro-wcm/open-text-web-e...
  (formerly
Vignette Content Management) enables business users to create,
edit, manage, and publish content to Web sites, connected devices, and
offline media. It provides strong content reuse capabilities across sites
and channels, reducing the cost to publish and maintain high quality
content. It has proven scalability to thousands of contributors and
  millions
of content items on some of the world's most respected sites.
  Furthermore,
it can work in tandem with *Open Text

CSS class problems

2010-06-04 Thread Tiffany
A site I am currently working is heavily class-dependent.

The main issue is the navigation. Each list item in the navigation has
a set style based on an li class. Normally I would rework the CSS, but
this particular site has very unique differences per class. And
frankly, I just don't have the time :-)

How can I get the nav manager to allow each list item in the
navigation to have a unique li class?

Is it easier to just reconfigure the CSS? What would you do? Thanks
for any help in advance.

Re: Page 2928 not linked in HTML/ENG

2010-06-04 Thread Tiffany
oh my what a pain, thanks for sharing.

On Jun 2, 12:03 pm, Kelly kellyburns2...@gmail.com wrote:
Realize this is an old post but I had exact same problem today using
RedDot 7.5 and this is how I solved it.  Posting here b/c I could not
find answers anywhere and this may help someone else who's tearing
their hair out like I was :)

My page 6331 was ignoring its publication package and overwriting our
main corporate homepage at the Root level. NOT GOOD!

ERROR message found in Publishing Log: “Page 6331 is not linked in
HTML/ENU” (HTML/ENU is name of our Project Variant).

Weirder still, this page 6331 was like a ghost page - if I did a
Search for the page ID, I could get to it easily and see it connected
as a page beneath an anchor reference, which was referenced to the
same page.  But if I then expanded and contracted the anchor link, the
page 6331 completely DISAPPEARED from the tree. Only way to see it
again was to pull it up from the clipboard.

 Reasons were:
 1)      The bad page 6331 had the SAME header name and the SAME
 filename as
 its twin, the “good homepage”
 2)      The bad page was not actually linked anywhere in the project
 tree
 but kept showing up.
 3)      We tried again and again to delete it from everywhere it was
referenced.  But b/c it had same header filename as a good page, we
could not delete the reference that we NEEDED to get rid of.
 4)      Finally, we renamed the headline of the bad page and gave it
 a
different filename.  THEN we were able to delete it, no problem.
 5)       When we did a search for Page ID 6331 then and did Display
reference in tree, we saw it was now in the Recycle Box, which is
where it should have been from the start.
 5)      We could now go to our good homepage and publish it.  No
 longer
did our good or bad homepage overwrite our Root homepage.

 My advice:
 1) Do a search in your project for any page where [headline=(your bad
page headline here)] and check EACH of those pages that come up.  Esp
 do the
Display reference in tree for each of them so you can see where they
 'live'
 in your project.

 2) Find out the filename you have set for this 'bad' page.  While on
the Project node, select Display all filenames and scroll down to
that filename.  This shows you all pages in tree that have THAT
filename assigned and doubtless you have more than 1 such filename in
 there.

One or both of the above will confuse RedDot - or at least this was
 the case for us.

 Hope this helps someone.

 Best,
 ~Kelly

Well if the target is defined as ftp and using you as the log in, you can
simply fire up ftp.exe in a command window and see if you can overwite a

Index Page Question

2010-05-04 Thread Tiffany
I think this question has been asked, maybe even by me, but I am still
without a comfortable solution for publishing directory indexes.

For instance, a page named About should be published as about/
index.html. But the publication package is attached to a list on that
page and therefore the homepage for About is one level too high to be
published in the correct directory.

Does anyone have any helpful hints on how to do this on the backend
(without editing reddottemp folder on the server or making users
attach the page twice)?

Re: Index Page Question

2010-05-04 Thread Tiffany
Henry - If the RedDottemp folder is cleared out, will a double
publication catch the index?
What I mean is that if the list on the page defines the folder name
about, the first publication will likely try to publish index to about
without about existing yet. So there will be an error. But if I run
the publication again, maybe it will pick up on the second round? This
seems kind of messy, but perhaps an option.

Let me know if I understand that incorrectly.

If the folder exists in the target, you can simply prepend about/ to

list of links. I went through each one and it turned out the problem
was caused by an open a href with an IO tag left behind when the
editor was updating the page. Thanks Ingo.

Subject: Language Variant + Sharing content elements

Hello all,

I think this is a simple question, but I really need you help :

I have 2 languages variants in a project : French and Dutch
The French one is the main project. What I want to do is, once a user
fills in a standard field or a text element in French, the element in
Dutch needs to be also fill in.

I've already checked Language variant-independent content for the
standard fields and the text elements, however it doesn't seem to
work.

If someone could help me, it could be great.

Thanks in advance !

Re: using existing pages in navigation manager

2009-11-25 Thread Tiffany
Do you allow your users to connect pages in the nav manager? I did
this at first and came across a bunch of issues, mainly memory
related. I think it's more secure to have them attach pages to a list
in SmartEdit rather than directly in the nav manager. Also you can
limit the choice of content classes by using a list. As far as
connecting existing pages, there are some complicated workarounds, but
basically pages can only be connected once in nav manager. Probably
the easiest workaround is to create a dynamic anchor on the master
page, appended to the rendered navigation list in the open ul. Users
can reference existing pages onto these anchors. Let me know if you
need more clarification.

Re: Referencing vrs Connecting a page. Red Dot 7.5

2009-11-02 Thread Tiffany

Arsalan is right, use multiple publication packages, and the index
will become the index of each new folder in your structure.
Connect Existing will publish NEW pages.
If you want the page to publish to one spot, and then link to that
original page, then you need to reference the page not connect
existing.

On Nov 2, 12:03 pm, Arsalan ajam...@yahoo.com wrote:
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but from my limited Reddot experience, my

 Any comments would be appreciated.

I am working on a site with lots of folders in it. all of the folders
have index.html pages in them. When red dot users connect an existing
page (that is named index) on a related link, at publishing it
produces an error that reads something like can't find the ___
directory, publishing to the root directory. Then it overwrites the
home index page!! I started recommending the users use Reference a
 Page instead.

My question is : Can I stop Red Dot from publishing to the root
directory if there is such an error? Is what's happening the fact the
connecting an existing page is altering the structure somehow, and
referencing a page does not? What are the major differences between
 the two?

I tried using authorization packages to stop the ability to connect to
existing pages from the module, but it takes out referencing a page as
 well.

 Thank you for any insight.

Publishing asset folder to different target

2009-09-14 Thread Tiffany

Does anyone have a way to publish an asset manager to a different
target than Published Pages?

For a page in my site, I would like the HTML to publish to 123.com and
the images to publish to 456.com/images/. Then when my HTML page calls
the images it would use the full external path. There is an option in
the Asset Manager folder which allows a different path. What does this
do? I thought this might be my answer to publishing assets to a
different domain on the same server, but it did not work.

Since the asset manager populates automatically when the Publication
Package is defined, it does not look like I can separate them to add
one folder into a different Target.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Re: Navigational Manager structure help please

2009-08-06 Thread Tiffany

I believe what you are asking for is what we are doing here:
http://www.ts.vcu.edu/kb/blackboard/856.html
The confusion comes in when you designate something as selected/not
selected in your navigation area.
You need to state in your navigation area that when level 2 lstitem1
is selected the as display. So that means lstItem2 and lstItem3 are
considered Not Selected and should not display level 3 (b and c).

Does that make sense?

I want to only show the a or b or c nodes.. what it does is show a, b
and c nodes together... is there a way to just show one subnode group

Re: rendering navigation alphabetically

2009-07-14 Thread Tiffany

Hmm - I've always been told that nav order can not follow list order?
Is that not true? I use nav areas and I have my list set to sort
alphabetically but they are not following. I haven't found anything on

lot of my own posts!)

On Jul 14, 11:03 am, Christopher Sheldon

Actually there is a way to do it ... it shoudl be in other posts on

this issue building a large site and eventually came up with the
workaround using navigation areas ... it greatly cleaned up the
solution and code.  I would search this forum for the answer .. it is
possible without any ASP or anything silly like that.

-Original Message-

Subject: Re: Content Import Manager i.e. CIM

OK.. first of all, you need to install CIM as a RedDot plugin (same
way you install any other standard plugin)

Once installed, access your project via SmartTree - and under
'Administer Project Structure Project' - click on the 'Content
Import Manager' link in the action menu.

From there you have two options - 1. 'Edit Import Profiles' or 2.
'Import' content.

Under Edit Import Profiles, you can set up a whole lot of different
types of imports that you run against your project.
For each profile:
1. you need to set up where you want the new pages to be created under
(first of all you need to determine which list/container in the
project you want your pages to be connected to via a page search)
2. determine which template in your project the new pages will be
created from
3. determine the data source type for your existing content (e.g. xml,
html pages, database etc)
4. map the fields from the data source to each of your content class
elements in the template you have selected
5. Set any page defaults (headline, filename, keywords etc)
6. Set the after import action (will your pages be automatically
released after import etc??)

Once that’s all set up, you can then run the import for each of your
profiles.

With this info, you should find that everything else is rather self
explanatory.

It’s worth noting that the Content Import Manager isn’t a blanket
plugin you can use to convert all of the content from another format/
site into your project. It can’t do everything for you. Essentially
importing content is a half manual/half automated process using CIM...
but it should save you a whole heap of time!

Good luck!

Cheers,
Kim

Subject: Need Advice

I work in a Marketing Communications company that is bidding on
revising a small portion of a multi-site corporate account. The CMS
now in use is Red Dot.
1. Since the time line is very tight, does it make sense to stay with
Red Dot?
2. Is there any CMS system that will transparently interface with Red
Dot?
3. If Red Dot is the answer, where can I find a freelance programmer?

Thanks,

Rob

Re: Assigning CSS class to a table tag

JJB -
Heres what I did -
SmartTree - Admin Content Classes - expand your content class -
expand Content Elements - click on text element - in actions menu
Assign fixed style sheets - put your style in there - click OK

Now when users open up the table wizard the can change the class of
the table to one you stuck in here.

This is v9 using telerick rad editor...

Re: navigation manager to xml

2009-04-02 Thread Tiffany

I created an xml file based on the nav structure using render tags.
My XML template (which will be populated as pages are added) looks
like this:

?xml version=1.0 encoding=ISO-8859-1?
url_list
%!! Navigation:OutputArea(search xml) !!%
/url_list

The navigation content class used to build the navigation area looks
like this:
url
%!! Context:CurrentIndex.GetUrl() !!%
/url
navigation:nextlevel

So that my xml file ends up looking like:
url_list
url/path/page1.html/url
url/path/page2.html/url
url/path/page3.html/url
url/path/page4.html/url
url/path/page5.html/url
/url_list

Hope this helps,
Tiffany

weeks I guess. I managed to create a simple project (with menu) using
up and away. So I am asked if it is possible to use the navigation
structure to create an xml file.

 Thanks.

p tags in tables

2009-03-20 Thread Tiffany

Anyone know how to prevent the telerik editor from inserting p tags in
tables? I have paste formatting turned off so that they can not be
pasted in there. However if the user hits enter twice telerik
magically puts them in. Which is good for everything except my
beautifully designed tables which are getting all screwed up.

Thanks in advance!

That sounds nice however it is completely impossible to ask my editors

Re: Text Editor and image alt tags

Are using the reddot text editor? When I was running 7.5 (I'm on 9

mention. As far as I remember I never had an issue with images
retaining their alt tags in the FCK.

When uploading an image via the controls on the text editor the user

to the markup the editor generates and we are currently having to
select the image and edit its properties to re-input the alt tag.

Is there anyway to get the alt text specified on file upload into
asset manager to be pulled across to the text editor without any
 further interaction??

 Cheers peeps..

Re: page id search

2008-12-08 Thread Tiffany

I changed the list as you suggested, and then referenced the

forget the ID element, it's not needed for your desired solution.

edited filenames, could enhance the SEO thing if necessary in your

page id search

2008-12-03 Thread Tiffany

We are publishing our articles using the page id numbers as the file
name. I want to create a search feature just for the article numbers
where the user will enter the article number and be taken to the
corresponding page. Has anyone done this or have advice?

Thanks for your help.

How do I change publication target of one page in a list?

2008-11-24 Thread Tiffany

I have a page in a list which needs to be published as the index of
it's subpages. How do I change the target of just one page and not the
whole list? There is no option in the Action menu for individual
pages.

You might be able to come up with a class to use once on every list

 301 / 302 / etc.
Not so much fun if you have hundreds of directories...

great idea, thanks.

I had a quick chat with a colleague here who has already put some

We're going to start using a custom 404 handler which creates a 301
redirect when the user hits a directory.
The handler uses XPATH to look up the directory in an XML file, and
create the appropriate redirect if it finds a match.
If there's no match, it just gives you a standard 404 error page.
I'll probably write a plugin that climbs through the cms publication
structure and creates a default set of information.

I'll write it up when we're done implementing it.
 Wayne.

Re: How do I change publication target of one page in a list?

2008-11-24 Thread Tiffany

Thanks for your response - before I read your suggestion I had
connected the page in two places, giving the new page an index.html
property with a simple redirect. A bit clunky, but effective for now.
It looks like your string will eliminate a couple of steps. I will
work it in and see what happens.
Thanks again for your advice!

On Nov 24, 3:14 pm, RedDot in Toronto [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
The page would be connected in 2 places... one is the list that you
are having problems with now the other is where you want it to
publish. Once you've established both links you set the main link in
the linking and appearance schedule to the list where you actually
want it to publish and that code that I posted will be on the list
that you want to reference or fake as being a reference. The other
alternative is you convert the list to a dynamic anchor list at which
point you can have a publication target for each anchor. I'll post a
 more detailed example later.

Looks interesting - I think I remember reading something about this

But doesn't it only fake out the page builder into thinking the page

Where would you put the unique publication package in Tiffany's
  example above?
  Wayne.

This is very hacky... but what you can do is this...

   ?php echo str_replace(islink=2, islink=10, %lst_articles%); ?

If I understand your problem correctly.

A list can only have one publication package and anything under that
list will publish to the location specified in that publication
package. The above code will tell RedDot to check the main link of the
page in question and use the main link. What you can do is set the
main link and assign it to the location where you want to publish with
the publication package. It makes it think that the list is an anchor
and that you are doing a reference existing page instead of connect
to existing page, of course you'll have to check what the list is
iterating through currently probably with the title or page ID. I'd
use it sparingly though if you want to find out more about this there
is a section in the RQL documentation under lists/anchors that tell
   you what the flag does.

List Order

2008-11-20 Thread Tiffany

When users add pages through a list element they are entered in, in
the opposite direction of the nav manager. So when I call a nav area I
created through the list the order is upside down. How can I fix this?

Re: How do I hide Master Pages in Nav Manager?

2008-11-18 Thread Tiffany

To be honest, I used the nav manager because my editors could visual
the tree structure better in the system. For their Knowledge Base
sometimes Articles would be grouped in multi-level Categories.
Sometimes they wouldn't. And adding pages to the nav manager made the
process easier for them to understand.
However I think the inability to limit content classes is a bigger
problem.
Thank you for your helpful suggestions.

On Nov 17, 1:22 pm, El Pollo Loco [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Nav Mgr does not seem to pay
attention to content class preassignments. All you can do is to not
use Nav Mgr to create pages, and instead use the regular multilink
reddot for your list and create pages with that. Generally speaking, I
dont think that your editors need to access and or edit the navigation
structure from with nav mgr.Is there a specific reason why they
need to use Nav Mgr to create pages?

I guess you could hack the Nav Mgr Create Page dialog and use RQL to
get the content classes and page definitions that are preassigned, to
then filter out the non-preassigned content classes from the choices
of content classes for creating a page in the Nav Mgr

  Any advice?
