Re: System Log Book?
BTW: I don't log rpm installs/updates, *if* I run them the default way: this because I get info on them very quickly by simply doing a 'rpm -qa --last' ... the lazy method :) ... oops: this just gives me the idea of doing a 'rpm -qa --last log file' next time .. just in case the rpm database, or whatever produces this log, will break ... :) I think for a logbook you would want to do 'rpm -qa --last log' else you will only ever have your last --last. :) -adam ___ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
new ximian sawfish upgrade broken?
I just updated my sawfish install via the gnome updater. Since then, sawfish no longer starts. Re: 7.0 disable hardware detect after install
from a command prompt.. chkconfig --del kudzu man chkconfig for more details. -adam Hello, just disable Kudzu (Sysvinit). Because I don't know your Desktop it isn't easy to recommend a workaround, as far as I can remember there is a tool ( maybe sysvinit with all those nice scripts and runlevels) with KDE where you can disable Kudzu. I downloaded and installed evolution using the latest rpms. Now I don't know where it went. Tell me how to start it and then I will be able to find it.. You could try... $ locate evolution ...which will give you alist of all the files on your system with evolution in them. Re: mouse through switchbox
If you're already using an ELECTRONIC KVM switch, I don't know what to tell you. :-) Unfortuntly I am ... a StarView if I recall correctly. (Not at the machine ATM). So, I would say that that is one kvm switch to avoid (unless I can figure out how to make it work) under Linux (works brilliantly in NT though) -adam -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.

mouse through switchbox
Hi. I'm having a hard time getting my mouse to work through my new kvm switchbox. It works fine for the nt box, but the mouse doesnt respond in x. Hopefully this is not one of the things 'that need work'. Heres the setup... linux box (ps/2 port) - ps/2-to-serial changer - serial port on switch box (input) - serial port on switch box (output) I think the problem is that its doing a ps/2 - serial changover at the switchbox, therefore, I may have to just get a cheapo serial connector for the linux box, but hoping to not need to do that...so any ideas would be appreciated. -adam -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.

i dont think redhat makes development kernel rpms as they are, well, development kernels and people might see a rev level higher than they currently have, install them, and then cause negative press for redhat. not to mention the fact that userland utils (initscripts for one) need to be upgraded to accomadate the new kernel functionality. -adam On Wed, 5 Jan 2000, jack wallen jr wrote: anyone know of a location to get an rpm of the 2.3 kernel?
