Hello! I'm having some USB trouble with my machine. I'm not sure if it is
due to hardware limitations or software problems...
I have an ASUS A7V motherboard with the builtin USB.
I have a USB keyboard and mouse attached to my 7.2, kernel 2.4.9-31 and they
work fine.
I just got a KVM switch so that I could use 1 kbd and mouse between my Mac and
Linux systems. It seems to work fine -- to a point. The switch is a Starview
SV231USB.
It seems that every time I switch away from Linux, the system sees that as a
disconnect of the USB devices.
That creates two problems:
1. For some reason, when I switch away from Linux to the mac, my FDD accesses
(interrupt issue?). That's odd.
2. The bigger problem is that each time I come back to Linux, new USB device
numbers are assigned to the devices. At about 73, the devices will not accept
the device numbers anymore, causing an error of -110.
If anyone can give em some direction on this, I'd be very grateful! I hate
having to have two keyboards and mice...
-Michael
