Re: [Repeater-Builder] 600 - 10k ohm Interface

2004-12-12 Thread Chuck Kelsey

Well, memory was incorrect. Radio Shack does not
have anything that close. They have 1K CT to 8 ohm and another 1:1 for 600-900
ohms.

As far as being a purist, I was assuming that it
was already tried and didn't work well.

Hi All,

I need a simple interface for a 600 ohm output radio to a controller

This is a RX not TX.

I don't want to make a circuit board if I don't need to.

Any ideas?

Just hang a resistor of about 600 ohms across the
radio output and connect the input to the controller
to it. If you have enough voltage to drive the
controler you do not normally need to worry about
matching the impedances.

Simplest way is with a standart 600 to 10k transformer.

Hi Rob,

Helper is now owned by Zetron. They were happy to
sell me a Service Manual last year. Zetron's support
for Helper seems to be very good. I can't say the
same for Zetron supporting their own stuff. Try
buying a manual for some of their paging equipment
over 5 to 8 years old.

Good luck...

[Repeater-Builder] Antenna Question

Hello to the list. I know this topic has come up over and over before,
but, I have a question. I have a Stationmaster type antenna that I
want to retune. I am trying WD8CHL's mod. I have put three pieces
of aluminum foil on and it has not changed the SWR reading from

has done this with good results, please contact me direct. I do not
want to slow down the list with an old topic. Thank you.
