In my personal collection (which is maybe 1/20 that of Neil), I have at least ten different styles of Vibrasponders. You need to post the type of radio (Micor, Mitrek, etc), the radio model number, and preferably the number on the PL decoder board. Why the model number? because in many cases the reed numbers changed mid-life on the radio... for example, early Motracs used a very different reed than late Motracs. Why the PL board number? because different boards used different reeds: the HLN4020 board used a very different 'sponder than the HLN4181 board - and both were used in Mitreks interchangeably. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Retuning of Sinclair I2113A Isolator
Yes, my experience is that the "magnet holders" are locked, but can be freed with a suitable C spanner. If you physically abuse these isolators, which can happen during de-commissioning, they become microphonic. The two adjusters can be screwed in to stop this problem. Re-adjustment is always necessary and isolation is always worse. The construction is like a clamshell with the adjusters clamping the magnet sandwich together inside. To move the frequency I assume that the internal spacers will have to be replaced on a select on test basis. I fully agree with Eric, leave this one to Sinclair! Re: [Repeater-Builder] Retuning of Sinclair I2113A Isolator
Scott, I have been down that road twice, coincidentally with exactly the same Sinclair part number. In each case, I had a working isolator pulled from Government service around 166 MHz that I wanted to use in the Amateur 2m band. The "range" shown in the catalog for these isolators is really an indicator of the manufacturer's capability to make the isolator, not the tuning range of a particular unit. Once an isolator or circulator is made for a particular frequency, it can only be tuned a very few MHz either side of that frequency. It will cost about $250 to remanufacture your isolator to the new frequency, which involves a considerable amount of precision work. This is much cheaper than buying a new isolator, and it comes with a guarantee. Be forewarned: Once you open the isolator, Sinclair may refuse to perform the rework. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY wn1b8 wrote: > Greetings, > > I have a Sinclair model I2113A isolator. [Repeater-Builder] Retuning of Sinclair I2113A Isolator

Re: [Repeater-Builder] PART 95 Type Accepted (putting me to sleep)
John, If you contact that government agency with the Sensicon 'A' Receiver strip, you might caution them on a factory designed built-in flaw. The plate of the audio output stage has a chassis mounted .01 or .02 mfd bypass capacitor going to chassis ground. If that capacitor ever shorts, the output transformer will be toast very shortly. The fix is a replacement disk-ceramic capacitor from plate to the screen grid on that 6AQ5. Been there, replaced that transformer - not fun. The 'A' Series of the transmitter strip on both low and high bands also has a 'needs to be replaced' from time to time. There is a three section electrolytic capacitor in the speech amp section that opens up sooner or later. One part of the resultant is the deviation seems to go very wide as the B+ bypass is now open. Another is if the lower frequencies of a human voice / PL tone modulation seems quite low. The Modulation tube 7V7 cathode by-pass capacitor has opened up. The PL version of the low and high band Sensicon 'G' Receiver ... the PL receive sensitivity seems to have gone away, the electrolytic coupling capacitor in the PL decoder circuit has opened up. The UHF 'B' receiver ... there is a 8200 ohm 2 watt carbon dropping resistor from B+ to the plate of the gas regulator tube. After a few years, the value has dropped quite a ways - a good fix is a 10K 3 watt wirewound resistor. Hope this helps, Neil - WA6KLA JOHN MACKEY wrote: > > I'll bet there are still a hand full of G strips & A strips on the > air. Re: [Repeater-Builder] PART 95 Type Accepted (putting me to sleep)
I have a high-band Motrac Consolette base station I bought for $50 about 32-33 years ago. I am still using it on two meters. At one time, I duplexed it for an RTTY demonstration in a Navy-Marine Corps Mars installation in the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim California at the SW Division ARRL Convention. It's duplexed UHF counterpart that I also bought for $50 at the time got retired some years back. 73 - WA6KLA Paul Finch wrote: > > I have a friend that has a backup Compa Station for his 2 meter > repeater, at least until he tried to bring it up the last time > and it had died dead. Re: [Repeater-Builder] RE: [GE Mastr II] Mastr II covers needed
Me too, I need tp PA Deck cover the UHF 100 watt unit. Neil - WA6KLA "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" wrote: > > Me too - I need one of the covers for the MASTR II Fold-out RF > Tray (not the PA deck).
