RE: [Repeater-Builder] Re: 125 watt duplexed Mitrek?

2008-02-26 Thread Thomas Oliver
Whoa back up a minute my whole reply was to answer a question about using
a Syntor X for a repeater transmitter, no it can not be duplexed in the
same box nowhere did I indicate it could.
sorry for the confusion.

Larry,

The Motorola Reference Manual identifies the B93MPB as simply "Upright Base
Station." It has no nickname.

I have one of the 10-Meter B91LPB stations, uses Motrac receiver, elements,
etc. with a PA deck using 2 - 8560A tubes.

What Motorola Base Station series would you call the B93MPB station? It's
certainly not a MICOR.

If so, There is some nice software to turn the machine into a repeater

2008-02-26 Thread tsoliver
First get yourself a Syntor X make sure it works on the Freq. it is on then I
can program an EEPROM for your freq. and swap you EEPROM's
Or if you have a programmer I can send you the image and you can program it
yourself.

2008-02-26 Thread dave_g7uzn
Why would they come knocking on MY door...surely they would knock on
the persons door that sent it?

This is the main reason why Motorola are largely avoided in the UK
due to the 'closed door' attitude. I would bet that I would have a
real problem finding an authorised dealer willing or now able to
program a 5000 for me. I wonder how many Motorola repeaters
throughout the world have had their proms 'tickled' by borrowed s/w?

   Again...THANKSCheers Dave UZN

Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Motorola MSF5000 s/w required?

2008-02-26 Thread Bob M.
Well, in the USA, it is illegal to give away the
copyrighted software that you asked for, especially if
it's Motorola's. It's even illegal to resell old
copies according to their license agreement that
legitimate owners sign before being allowed to
purchase the stuff.

So when their lawyers come knocking on your door, you
won't be so quick to thank us.

...in some cases bad information, like the "Emergency digital voice data"

apart. Every frequency coordinator with D-Star experience has rebuked this
idea. The Utah VHF Society has recently recommended 15 kHz spacing on UHF.

Sorry, but I calls 'em like I sees 'em, & most of these uploads look like

Looks like a low power UHF "Canadian" style MSR-2000 amplifier,
aka an SP (special) production. If it works, it's a great
amplifier to drive larger pa's.

cheers,

ps: per your other post... I believe the exciter should key even
if the pa plug is off the amplifier.

[Repeater-Builder] Re: 125 watt duplexed Mitrek?

2008-02-26 Thread skipp025
Let me get this straight... you're been able to get a single
Mitrek Mobile Radio to Duplex (repeater) operation at 125
watts without any receiver desense?

Seems to me there is serious potential for in-cabinet desense.
At anything but modest power levels, most people use two Mitreks
for one repeater (one tx and rx radio each function).

cheers,
s.

[Repeater-Builder] Re: need Mitrek

2008-02-26 Thread wb6ymh
You forgot to mention that the Syntor X will not duplex since it uses
the save VCO for both Tx and Rx. You'll need two to build a repeater,
one for Rx and one for Tx. My experience is that some, but not all
"range 2" Syntors will Tx in the low half of the ham band without mods
to the VCO.

[Repeater-Builder] WTB: Extender Card MSR-2000

2008-02-26 Thread Robin Midgett
Hi builders,
In an effort to help keep the local 2m machine on the air, I'd like
to acquire an extender card (or two) for the Motorola MSR-2000
repeater. Do any of you have some available?

Thanks,
Robin Midgett K4IDC
