Jerry,

You should check the manuals available now for download right here:

The complete GM300 service manual is available in five parts. Just scroll
down to the manual download section.

I don't have documentation on the controller of this repeater. Does
anyone know where the adjustment is to turn up the synthesized voice on

hardware manual for the Mark 4 CR please let me know.

[Repeater-Builder] Re: MOTOROLA R-100 PROGRAMMING CHECKSUM ERROR!

2008-12-05 Thread sgreact47
The EEPROMs in the R100 do go bad and you will get the checksum error.
The computer MUST be a 286 at 10 megahertz OR slower to work properly
with the RSS program.

Also there is an error in the programming cable that 'may' cause
problems. Change the two 2.2K resistors to 4.7K to better match the
serial port on the computer.

Your question was: Why should I use 7" length of interconnect line
between the cavities? (think it's 1/8 wavelength)
And why are the length of the coupling cable to the "t" rx-line 9" and
tx-line 26"?

The answer is: That is what the design calls for.

W1GAN is probably SK by now, so you will just have to take his word
for it.

[Repeater-Builder] Re: SSCB

2008-12-05 Thread k6kusman
The word from the Motorola shop that we got the repeater from was
that a lightning strike is what hosed it. We tried to bypass the
toint were the 9.6v comes in and then stops via the ribbon cable bit
all it does is get real hot and burns up the jumper. The 5v supply is
working at 5v unloaded but when the jumper is put back in it drops to
3.2v. The SSCB tries to boot but the test panel just shows FF and
nothing else works. Tried applying 9.6v to the test point but nada..
it musta been a st. elmos fire that nailed it. There is no external
indication of a lightning strike as in anything blasted apart or
anything else.. It would seem that just the SSCB bit the dust.

There's no physical difference between a CXB and an RLB in the area

Must have been a serious short circuit on the 9.6V line to burn the inner foil.
I'm very surprised. Are you just missing 9.6V on various ICs, or has that foil
actually shorted to other layers? Did it take anything else with it (like the

Theoretically any VHF/UHF/800 MHz SSCB should work in that unit. There's no
physical difference between a CXB and an RLB in the area you've got problems
with.

[Repeater-Builder] Re: PC-to-Radio-to-Repeater site: DTMF Dialer program

2008-12-05 Thread Coy Hilton
If you are running Echolink in sysop mode you can use the local
Keyline to do the keying. Another way is to do a VBScript..this is a
visual Basic Script that will allow you to change the state of a
handshake line on the 232 port. I use a freeware program called DTMF
DIAL it's small but it works well.

[Repeater-Builder] MOTOROLA R-100 PROGRAMMING CHECKSUM ERROR!

2008-12-05 Thread hkngnr

Hi All,

Hello, I am newcomer in this group. I hope I will get and share some
experiences with you all,

My problem is the following: We purchased a VHF Motorola R-100
Repeater and we got the Codeplug and necessary cabling from Batlabs.
During programming we connected to the repeater properly but when we
wanted the program it, there was a problem occured and later when we
red it back the program said "checksum error!

Later we removed the EEPROM for RX and read it and compare it with
the other EEPROM for TX of course both were different.

After searhing in group, some member telling about
the "initialization", if someone tell me how we can do this? or if
possible we want to get *.bin file for R-100 VHF RX and TX EEPROM's
possible?? Or are there other ways to solve?

I will appreciate amoung our club's members if someone help us,

Kind regards and thanks in advance!
