[Repeater-Builder] What's a Link-Comm RLC2 worth?

2009-08-17 Thread K5IN
A friend of mine has what he says is a Link-Comm RLC2 controller with auto
patch in it.

If I remember right firmware 3.0 is installed. He asked me for it's value???

2009-08-17 Thread cwbunting
Just installed mine last week.. All I can say is it's my best controller yet...
Looks great in the rack, jumpered configuration makes installation a breeze,
and the price is almost too good to be true (but it's not), support has been
excellent...

Can't say any of this about link-comm... Scom has definately won me over!

Well, I can think of at least two hams I've known with throat problems,
such that they could not speak loudy. Yes, a pain but that was their
disability. That repeater would have shut them out, which I consider
rather unforunate.

There is also the issue of emergencies: someone in some kind of
accident (think auto) who either got a damaged mic, or is injured
themselves, trying to use the repeater.

While not likely in either case, its very real for that person if it
happens.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] S-COM 7330

2009-08-17 Thread TGundo 2003
I have been using one for well over a year- no failures at all and no goofy
glitches to report either. I have it set up to control one repeater and two
link radios. Audio quality is excellent. Like it's predacessor the 7K, so far
it seems to be a very reliable piece of hardware.

Still waiting for some of the software features to be developed, like message
routing, DVR function, etc, seems like there's lots of potential yet to be
unleashed! Dave, Bob, and the gang at S-Com promise more to be released soon.

I will hopefully be putting in a second one soon (As soon as the finance
committe approves ;) ) on another repeater project.

Thanks Bill, the ANT-150D arrived today in good condition.
You weren't kidding about New Old Stock. When I opened
it, it was factory packed. If it wasn't for the slight
tarnish on the N connector, I would think it was made
last week. Thanks again.

We have 12 of them in service and adding more as time and money allows. That
says a lot right there.

We've replaced (upgraded) previous models including the 5K, 6K & 7K ALL of
which have been some of the most reliable controllers we've ever had. I wish I
could say that about some other newer generation units out there on the market.

The new 7330 is a great unit. Full of features and flexibility. The support is
outstanding and the price is right. When Bob & company put something out you
know it's going to be built to a high standard, work right the first time and
be hassle free.

We'd love to see more ports on future models which they have discussed making a
reality. Firmware & feature updates come out and keep making them an even
better product. I don't think you'll be dissapointed; we certainly haven't been.

Hope this helps.
