[Repeater-Builder] Repeater Antenna Question

2007-04-26 Thread jhccradio
I am not sure if we ever visited this question before, If we have
sorry...

Here is the story, I have a Comet Dual Band Antenna GP9 VHF/UHF,
works for me and I like the quality and price. I have a UHF Repeater
and soon to have a VHF Repeater at the same location. I have no more
space or money to run the cable for another antenna, to the top. How
could I run both repeaters off the same antenna, I have a wacom
duplexer 4 can base type (not the cheap mobile kind) for one and the
other is a Telewave VHF 4 can (same type but VHF). Is it possible?
Could I use one of those splitters (450/150 mini duplexers) attached to
both duplexers? Or would I need something else? This is probably
simple I just am not sure? Thanks in advance?

JA

[Repeater-Builder] Help needed if possible, making spectra's into a repeater

2005-03-04 Thread JHCCRadio

I have a few of the trunk mount and dash mount spectra's.  I have a
few 100 watt units and a few of the 45 watt versions.  I am curious about
how to hook these mobiles to a Zetron Model 37 max controller to make a
repeater. I am not even sure it is possible. But any help would be needed.
I have a service manual for the spectra's  but I am not the
engineer.  Does anyone have a pin out for the COR and other audio pins that
need to be connected to the controller. I have hooked up maxtrac's this way
with no trouble.  I have just not been able to get it at all with the
spectra's  Any comments would be good and help is needed
Thanks.

familiar with the Motorola MTR2000 series of repeaters? Any comments on
quality, reliability, servicing, programming these units? Will be used as vhf

comments on other brands for new repeater equipment. Our club is looking
to replace our aging Micor,MastrII and Kendecom repeaters with new
  ones.

I have an MTR2000 and use it for GMRS,  I am a Police Officer and
found that my Dept uses, the MTR2000.  It is very reliable and a work
horse. Easy to program and easy to attach a Zetron controller  with an
ordered cable, plugs right in  (but it does cost alot  250.00) So
total the community repeater pannel cost around 500.00,  but it is a
terrific unit. I have the 100 watt unit turned down to 25 watts and it is
perfect for my needs. I would say if you have the money  get the repeater
it is worth it in the long run.

[Repeater-Builder] UHF Duplexer Question

2004-10-05 Thread JHCCRadio

I currently have a UHF MTR-2000 repeater, I bought it without a duplexer. It is the 100 watt type. I will be using this repeater at a high site with alot of intermod.  I am looking for a good duplexer... I am not sure which one tp purchase.  I have no problem buying a new one and spending some money, but I am not sure if that is the best choice.. Sop here are my questions ??
Which brand of duplexer does motorola send as a package with the MTR-2000 if adding the duplexer option ?
Which brand of duplexer seems to work the best in a high intermod site ?
Is a used duplexer as good as a new one if bought in good condition ?

Thanks in advance ??

Does anyone know if the RCH3000 works with the older non astro spectra, (or

I am considering hooking a spectra consolette to the DGT9000 or RCH3000. If
anyone has any type of info on this it would be appreciated...

[Repeater-Builder] Another question on the ICOM FR-4000 Repeater

Someone from the list gave me some good info on a possible solution to my
ICOM Repeater FR-4000 problem. Does anyone from the list, know if the ICOM IC
FR-4000 repeater requires tuning of the receiver's front end before being placed
in service and software programming? Do the helical resonators in the
receiver need to be optimized by tuning ?   Thanks angain in

[Repeater-Builder] Repeater Question

2004-05-31 Thread JHCCRadio

A question to the group hope we can find the answer  OK I have a
GMRS Repeater located on a large tower over looking the NY/NJ Metro area.
Currently I have been using a Motorola Desktrac Repeater (which is basically 2
Maxtrac mobiles with a basic repeater controller, and it is not continuous duty)
10 dB gain Superstation Master antenna on top of the tower, with 1 1/2
hard-line. The repeater has been putting out 25 watts.  I cover a great
deal of area with this repeater, with little dead spots.  I purchased an
ICOM  FR-4000 repeater last week, hoping to have a more continuous duty
repeater, DTMF Controls and some other features.  After I removed
the Desktrac, and put the ICOM in place I lost total coverage, a portable could
not get in from 2 miles away, when I was getting portable coverage from 30-40
miles away. So I placed the Motorola Desktrac back and no problem.
So far I have no idea why I have lost the
coverage, I know there is a 800 MHz EDACS System putting out 25 watts on the
tower and a VHF System. Both have not interfered with the Desktrac. What could
this be? what possible cures could fix this problem?

Thanks in advance
