Re: [Repeater-Builder] maggiore's service

2004-10-29 Thread N6KYD

I have had great service from Maggiore with fast
turn arounds. Having bought some older used Maggiore products off ebay, they
came back from repair and have been working great for the last 2 years. The
repair prices were very reasonable.

Having met with Paul Maggiore , and spending a day with
him. I find that very hard to believe.Paul  backs up his product. No

will back up his product.. NealSteve Grantham wrote:
Caveat Emptor. If you buy Maggiore, the purchaser is the perpetual owner as

Our club has one that was purchased on behalf of the club, in an
individual's name, and we cannot get any satisfaction period. I cannot even
get them to reply to emails. As a matter of fact, the fellow's email
address went bad.

The last unit I had Maggiore make, was a custome
build. Not only did they do the work fast, it was
all first rate soldering and hardware.

Service seems to be pretty good for Hi-Pro stuff.

cheers,

If you have a technical staff available to do your
repairs, a repeater such as the Hi-Pro may be
suitable. (Although I would personally recommend one).
If you are planning on sending the repeater back to
the manufacturer for any future repairs, Kenwood,
Motorola, Icom, or some other similar brand would be
more suitable and easier to get repaired.

[Repeater-Builder] WTD: Icom RP-1220 Service Manual

2004-08-30 Thread N6KYD

Hello,
I am looking for a copy of the ICOM RP-1220 service
manual.
If someone can help me out it would be appreciated.
I have an intermittent power output. It only keys up at 10 watts occasionally
and most the time power output is at 1.5 watts.
Can't seem to isolate the problem to a poor
connection.

Sincerely,
Mike N6KYD

2004-07-30 Thread N6KYD
I have a UHF Mastr Pro receiver on a repeater that had the same problem. The
audio off the terminal strip is very bassy. I solved the problem by taking
the audio from the volume pot.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] T1504 cavity

Ken,
On the High Pass/Low Reject side I had to move the coupling loops of both
cans to the 2nd position (outer most hole) on a 445.580- pair in order to
get maximum reject of 440.580. It's worth a try and see how your notch
looks there. Rather suspicious though that the one can is ok..h

Do you already have the loop moved to the 2nd hole which allows for more
adjustment. Just thought I would ask.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] a little help

2004-03-28 Thread N6KYD
I have used the Hustler G7-220 for many years in a high wind area and it has
held up very well. No snap crackle or pop through the repeater during wind.
There is no ice or snow here in So. Cal. so others may want to comment on
their experiences with this antenna in harsh environments. The Cuscraft 220
four pole is another good antenna. I don't know if they are still being
manufactured.

Do 3/4 wavelength cavities use 1/4 wave interstage coupling cables? I
recently bought some used DB-4023 bandpass duplexers and the coupling cables
are aprox. 1/2 wavelength ??
