Re: [inbox] [Repeater-Builder] SpectraTac receiver on 12v
Thanks to all who responded on this. I had only planned to run the receiver on 12v as a diagnostic measure to isolate the power supply as the problem. Hearing that quite a few others have experienced the problem makes me relatively sure that the caps are in fact bad. Bob M. If it isn't too much of a problem a scan of the pages you mentioned would be very much appreciated. I wont be near the receivers until this weekend but will definitely take a look at the supplies. Re: [Repeater-Builder] SpectraTac receiver on 12v
Thanks, I'm not too concerned about the filtering as I will be running it off a battery for the test. Do you recall whether the 12V input is fairly well marked? I don't remember seeing it when I looked for something like that although I was only looking at the backplane. This input is intended to be supplied from a battery, and there is very poor filtering on it. Make sure if you use this input that it is supplied from a well filtered supply. I once made the mistake of running one of these from the high current output of a Mastr II station PS, and had bad hum and noise until I figured out what was happening. 73, Kevin, K9HX At 12:21 AM 1/16/2006, you wrote: Is it possible to operate SpectraTac receivers on 12v easily? [Repeater-Builder] DB201
Anyone know if there are any differences between the Hi-band vs. the UHF versions of the DB201? ie. can one tuned for 170MHz be retuned for 450? Looking at the drawings and specs they all seem to be the same with the exception of the low band ones having a longer support pipe. Thanks, Steve Yahoo! Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: folded dipole antenna id
Thanks to all for responding about the antenna. The harness on mine is a quite stiff but I don't see any cracks in it. I'll try putting some power to is and see what comes back. Hopefully it'll work and I can replace the diamond that's currently in use. I read a message in the archive that the only difference in the ham band version was the harness. I suppose it could be replaced but the unknown is what's under the 'insulators' on the elements. Robert, I'd be interested in seeing the paperwork if at all possible. 73, Steve - Original Message - From: georgiaskywarn [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, August 17, 2005 3:20 AM Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Re: folded dipole antenna id That is a DB-406. Re: [Repeater-Builder] What is available for IRLP equipement
The only interface for IRLP is the card available from them. It's available from www.irlp.net You can also add echolink to an IRLP node via the EchoIRLP project www.echoirlp.com It works really well and makes a nice single PC/radio setup. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Re: QRZ Database
My linksys used to stop working about once a week so I did exactly that. The timer shut it off for 1 minute at 4AM. Eventually I dumped the stupid linksys and am now using a linux box as a router. I haven't looked back since. Re: [Repeater-Builder] UHF ham band offset dipole array availability
Thanks for the response Russ. I got an email stating that all DB-411's were out of production. I still see it listed on their website though. Is anyone using a 450 version on a ham repeater? My site is on the side of a hill so an omni would just dump half the power into the hill. I think the DB-411 looks ideal. Comments and suggestions welcome ;-) Steve, kf6fkk - Original Message - From: Russ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2005 10:27 AM Subject: Re: [Repeater-Builder] UHF ham band offset dipole array availability Hey Steve, Not as well as one for the 440-450 would work. You can still buy the DB-411 (NEW) for 440-450. All so the DB-408 for 440 works very well if you do not need every thing going in one direction.
