[Repeater-Builder] Re: CWID-70 Manual needed.

2007-10-29 Thread Eric Lemmon
I wonder if the CWID-70 is a later version of the CWID-50 made by Control
Signal, Inc. A new PROM chip programmed with your desired info costs about
$25 from CSI. Here's the manual for the latter:

Larry,
You might want to check out the ID-O-MATIC that is sold by N0AXS.
This little Kit will run you about $20 bucks and works like a champ!

Look up N0AXS or ID-O-MATIC on your search engine and he has a
website where you can get this kit and other really neat items for
repeaters!

I use this for an ID'er on one of my repeaters and it works as good
as any of the $500 controllers that I have!

Not the easiest way, but definitely the cheapest: use K1EL's K-ID
PIC: $8
shipped. The hard part is adding:

-trigger timing circuitry so it sends the ID every 10 minutes but
only
 while the repeater's in use

-audio filter to clean up the square wave output.

I've built a small interface board for my latest portapeater that
uses the
K-ID chip. I'm not 100% happy with the result as I was space
time
constrained (had to fit within the multi-freq. area in the G.E. MVP
 only
had a few weeks to design, build test), but it does work. I can
e-mail
you the schematic if you like can even show you the result (will
be
spending the Monday after Dayton in the Quad Cities area).

Nice. Like the K1EL K-ID PIC but with the activity timer. Wish I had

Just be careful with that square wave output. I built an 800 Hz BPF
for the output of the K-ID; I'll post the schematic in a separate message.

Guys
I did order the ID-O-Matic and installed it. The only thing is such trash
with square wave output so built a little audio filter to smooth things out.
That is more pleasant to listen too. Yes cw can be pleasant.. Also
users who complained of no beep now have it.
