[Repeater-Builder] wavetek ct systems 3000b
hi guys i have a wavetek 3000b service monitor and it has stoped working no receive and no generate .I have found the high frequency synth is not generateing the frequency output it should be and i have found the F100102 ic chip has a 1 meg signal up to the final gate but there is no output to the sampler's diode bridge .can anyone advise me about this chip and possible replacements if available. thanks ian Yahoo! I have two Wavetek CT3000B service monitors. One works OK, the other has a problem in the scope. I would like this fellow's name to see what it would cost to bring one or both up to snuff. To the Group I note your info about the guy in Indianapolis repairing Wavetek service monitors. I would greatly appreciate his name and contact info as I have a model 3510 generator I am unable to get a tek manual for. This person might have such a manual as the Wavetek factory was there when they were in operation. I would be willing to buy, borrow or copy a manual. Without a manual my generator is useless because I have no Calibration procedure. While we're on the subject of Wavetek gear. Does anyone know of a source for manuals for 1882A and 1880 CATV analyzers? I've got prelim op instructions for the 1880, but nothing for the 1882A and no service manuals for either. They are both currently functional, but I need to make a few mods. Ian and others: I have checked my files at home and I have Chapter 5 of the Wavetek 3000B manual (maintenance) in zipped format and it is about 1.4 Mb. My recollection is that it is about 15 pages or so and I had received it from somebody who was kind enough to send it to me. If anybody would like it, let me know. If somebody has a site to post it, I would prefer to send it to them. I had also scanned the entire Manual including the schematics into Paperport. I had to scan the schematics in two parts and assemble them, so there is some discontinuity in the drawings, although I don't think it is that significant. Although scanned to 11 x 17, when printed to 8.5 x 11, they are small, but should still be usable. I don't remember if I have completely assembled the entire manual schematic set. If they were printed in Paperport, and you had a large format printer, they would print best in their native size. I had planned to convert these to Acrobat, but don't remember whether I did or not. These files are fairly large and e-mail would not do. There are some anomalies in the 3000B stemming from the mixing scheme. If you look at the output with a scope, you will see that it does not produce a pure sine wave, but that may be common with a lot of service monitors. Still, the signal is usable. As for the bad transformer, that is one reason I bought two of these (that and the good price that was offered). Transformers can be a problem. A friend of mine gave me one of the separate signal generators and it blows fuses from an apparent bad transformer, or it could be something else. I took it thinking I would have a spare scope and other parts (I got a manual with it), but the last time I remember comparing the books, I think they were different tubes, so no dice.
