Yes, I've added it to the wiki yesterday. I've also started to add more
practical information and links there.

Hi,
I fully agree that gare Montparnasse is a much better solution.
April is probably the best solution if it is possible.

That's a good initiative. I'd like to attend and contribute, but haven't
booked a flight yet.

Are the dates and the location decided? Who has confirmed the
participation so far?

Hi,

the dates are confirmed
(https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/ReplicantContributorsMeetingJuly2019)
and location is somewhere in Paris or nearby. The exact venue will be
hopefully decided shortly.

I quickly calculated and there will be at least 6 people involved more
or less developing Replicant.

Hi again,

Per Michiel Leenaars (NLnet) suggestion I got into contact with Julia
Morawski from Cap Digital. They have nice facilities in a perfect
location and would be willing to host us. Unfortunately their space is
closed during the weekend, which is a no go for us.

April's location ( https://www.april.org/en/contact-us ) in Montparnasse
seems better than Proto204 (Université Paris Sud). I don't know about
others, but it would spare me quite some time and travel costs.

> One employee of April may be interested in going to the meeting,
> depending on how technical it is.
Does that person prefer it more technical or less technical?
It should be easy to start all discussions with an high-level overview.
However we do have to get into the dirty technical bits in order to help
each other out. I think that's the main purpose of the meeting, right?

David

On my side I've asked for 3 locations, here's the status:
- I've asked to the "Cité des Sciences et de l'industrie", and I didn't
get a response yet, most probably because my contact there is on

One employee of April may be interested in going to the meeting,

Re: [Replicant] Replicant contributors meeting in Paris (France) in July

2019-06-11 Thread Fil Lupin
Hello,
I got a positive answer from Proto204.
This is Fablab of Université Paris-Sud, at 30km from Paris
(https://osm.org/go/0BOQjwRGt--?m=).
We could use a projector and access to a wired network, those wha have an
eduroam account could also access to eduroam wifi.

To allow find the best place, I gave below some information.
We can go at Proto204 using RER B to Bures-Sur-Yvette station, with a 5.2 €
ticketfrom Châtelet-Les-Halles (you can get the prices at page
https://www.ratp.fr/en/titres-et-tarifs/ile-de-france-idf-point-point-tickets).
Since some renovation work will take place from july 20th to 28th (and there
will be some work after this on the same transport line), it will need to take
a bus from Massy-Palaiseau station to Bures-sur-Yvette (no need to take another
ticket).
Transport will take about 1h from Châtelet-les-Halles which is a central
station in Paris.

You can check the transport time at
https://www.ratp.fr/en/itineraires?start=Châtelet-Les+Halles+(RER)%2C+Paris&lieu_depart=&is_mobile=&end=Bures-Sur-Yvette+(RER)%2C+Bures-sur-Yvette&lieu_arrivee=&start_or_arrival=0&departure_date=07%2F27%2F2019&departure_hour=09&departure_minute=00&modes[rail]=rail&modes[metro]=metro&modes[bus]=bus&itinerary_profile=fastest&op=Let's+go

I can also ask wikimedia foundation France next week if we can use their place
(which is in Paris, so perhaps easier)

[Replicant] Replicant contributors meeting in Paris (France) in July

2019-06-07 Thread Denis 'GNUtoo' Carikli
Hi,

We are trying to organize a Replicant contributors meeting this July,
possibly in Paris in France.

We don't have the definitive dates yet as we are still looking for a
place that could host the event.

Does someone know any places that has space for about 10 people and
good enough network access (unfiltered, fast enough for several
people) that would be willing to host the contributor meeting?

I've already asked at several places but I didn't get responses yet,
probably because the people I know there are on holidays.
