You may be able to tunnel over tcp, but as said earlier the latency will likely kill most of the comms. Hi, > Actually looking into FOSS Skype replacement. Could you give me a few > besides the ones you cited? There are FOSS Mumble clients: https://guardianproject.info/2013/01/31/anonymous-cb-radio-with-mumble-and-tor/ Another option would be to use ChatSecure: https://chatsecure.org/ In fact you are looking for push-to-talk feature (some kind of a walkie-talkie), which works pretty nice over Tor. I have heard about some tests running Skype over Tor. I remember it has been successfull up to some point, but the problem is Skype uses VBR (variable bit rate) codecss, which could be cryptoanalysed. See: https://support.silentcircle.com/customer/portal/articles/1644825-does-silent-phone-use-variable-bit-rate-vbr-codecs-don%E2%80%99t-they-leak-information- for more detail on that. Re: [Ring] Can I use Ring over Tor?
Hi, If the problem is latency, you can try test Tor over Ring Desktop Client with "Selector"(1). Setector is a free software that use the Tor's node close to the source with the intent to reduce the latency ... but I don't know the level of difficulty to integrate Selector with your distro. 1. You should try Mumble or similar "asymetric" service.
