[RDD] re Importing multiple files into rdlibrary via rdimport.
Hi All, Thanks so much for your help. I now have it under control. There were several things wrong. The first attempt had files with a hyphen in them which doesn't work. In the end I opted for Brandon's suggestion and copied them off the back up drive onto the main hd. I ended up using this command. rdimport --verbose --segue-level=-10 MUSIC /home/radio/Desktop/MusicImport/ *.mp3 ...and it worked. Thank you to all others who replied as well. Much appreciated. Re: [RDD] Cue output assignation problem
Hello, I have some news here : I uninstalled completely all the binaries (using make uninstall, and cleaning manually the leftovers), and I recompiled / reinstalled from scratch. The strange thing is that the wrong assignation only happens on a single event : when I edit a cart that is already in the log, and I try to set the cue. The output goes to card 0, port 0 wherever I set the Cue output in RDAdmin. But the assignation is correct, and follows what is previously set, when I use the pre-listen buttons that appear at the bottom of the select cart dialog when I want to add one to the main log. What am I missing ? Thanks ! Correct me if I'm wrong, I hope it's the exact same setting, but it just moved from page to page. Correct. The idea is to use a single cue output assignment for all Rivendell modules that require it. Whatever settings were used in RDAdmin-ManageHosts-RDAirPlay should now go here. Whenever I try to change this setting on one of my hosts, it is indeed recorded in database, but the sound keeps coming out of the wrong port (port 0 instead of 1). Not seeing this here. RDAirPlay follows the ‘Cue Output’ setting in RDAdmin-ManageHosts-[hostname] as expected. I captured the MySQL query log corresponding to my actions in RDAdmin. The Cue output values are recorded, but I'm not sure if they are correctly used by RDAirplay afterwards. The relevant queries are: *** snip snip *** UPDATE STATIONS SET CUE_CARD=0 WHERE NAME=yomama UPDATE STATIONS SET CUE_PORT=1 WHERE NAME=“yomama *** snip snip *** The cue entries in the ‘RDAIRPLAY’ table have been retired and are no longer used for determining cue output assignments. It sounds like you may have some version skew going on. Are you sure that the RDAirPlay instance is v2.8.0? Cheers! |-| | Frederick F. [RDD] Darkice fixed now? Yes, I think so!
Hey folks, For those of you who have been avoiding using darkice as your stream encoder, you may want to check out the latest trunk over at: svn checkout */http/*://darkice.googlecode.com/svn/darkice/trunk/ darkice-read-only I've been helping Kalle Kulonen improve darkice's stability when streaming to a remote Icecast/Shoutcast server. I'm pleased to say that the changes Kalle implemented have greatly improved darkice's stability. I've been running it for several days with a sometimes-shaky connection to Icecast and it has successfully recovered every time there has been network issues. I've tried other encoders but none are as efficient or as straightforward as darkice. I suggest you give it a look (or give it another look, as the case may be)! Hi Mark, I'm glad to know darkice is getting better. Few years ago when it lost connection to server and then reconnected there was a terrible white noise. It happened when using along with jackd. Is it fixed too? [RDD] Broadcast Tools ss4.4
Hello, Has anyone tried switching between ports 3 and 4 on a Broadcast Tools SS4.4 with Rivendell? I am successfully able to switch Ports 1-2, 2-1 but cannot make ports 3-4 and 4-3 work. It's correctly identified in RDadmin, and all four ports in the matrix are labeled. The RML commands I use are: ST 4 2 2! (Restore Input 2- Output 2) Works fine ST 4 2 1! (Connect Input 1-Output 2) Works fine ST 4 3 2! (Connect Input 3-Output 2) Works fine ST 4 3 3! (Restore Input 3- Output 3) Does not work ST 4 2 4! (Connect Input 2- Output 3) Does not work It basically looks to be that any channel can switch into port 1 and 2 as an output, but nothing can get switched to ports 3 or 4. When using the direct serial commands on the switcher, all seems to work fine. I tried this with the SO command and could not get that to work (which is a separate issue). Thanks in advance for any insight. Brian___ Rivendell-dev mailing list Rivendell-dev@lists.rivendellaudio.org http://caspian.paravelsystems.com/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
[RDD] Feature Suggestion - Time Temp Announcements
Being able to insert a command on the RDAirplay that called an appropriate time / temp audio file would be a really nice feature to have. In the case of ZaraStudio the software looks at two different text files for the numeric values to read for 'temp' or 'time' and just calls the corresponding audio file(s) to play on the on-air accordingly. Probably mentioned this in the past - but I've been doing that for years using an external script. Temp and conditions, in particular, work well when updated every so often (every 15 minutes in my case) by a cron job. Just get your info, splice your pre-made recordings, and run rdimport on the finished product. In my case, I have a (not very pretty) perl script which retrieves National Weather Service data, then assembles the correct sound files. The files are all one announcer's voice, reading every number from zero to 120, plus the following words/phrases: Right now in (town name) degrees degrees below zero under clear skies under fair skies under mostly cloudy skies under partly cloudy skies with a few clouds with overcast skies with heavy rain with light rain with freezing rain with hail and foggy and raining and snowing and windy There's a live example at http://www.kanabec.net/kciz/LATEST.wav - you'll get the idea. Same could be done much easier with TTS, but I like the sound of a real person better. Protip: The person doing the audio work will hate you less if the request is accompanied by a bribe of some sort :-) As for time checks, I have pre-recorded carts for every quarter-hour (1:00, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, etc) which can be included in the log at the appropriate times. Using legal IDs with integrated time checks has also worked well in the past. --- Keith Thelen Kanabec Systems ___ Rivendell-dev mailing list Rivendell-dev@lists.rivendellaudio.org http://caspian.paravelsystems.com/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
Re: [RDD] Broadcast Tools ss4.4 - SOLVED
Hello, I looked through the source code, and found the issue. There is a hard-coded value for maximum outputs versus looking at the value from RDadmin. The fix needs to go in ripcd/btss44.cpp Change: case RDMacro::SA: if((cmd-arg(1).toInt()1)||(cmd-arg(1).toInt()bt_inputs)|| (cmd-arg(2).toInt()1)||(cmd-arg(2).toInt()2)) { cmd-acknowledge(false); To: case RDMacro::SA: if((cmd-arg(1).toInt()1)||(cmd-arg(1).toInt()bt_inputs)|| (cmd-arg(2).toInt()1)||(cmd-arg(2).toInt()bt_outputs)) { cmd-acknowledge(false); There are two more cases that need this modification: case RDMacro::SR: case RDMacro::ST: I'm not set up to contribute to the code base, otherwise I'd check this fix in. If someone would like to do that, I would be happy to provide a diff file against the versions. This was tested on version 2.8.1. On Saturday, March 1, 2014 8:22 PM, Brian P.
