[RDD] Report format

2020-01-23 Thread Mircea Paun
Hello!
Will rivendell ever be able to support Report Customization?
I mean, that report where you can select which items from cart/cut, as well
as some other information, will be in the report.
Is there a wiki somewhere to customize and add a custom report? either by
modifying sources and recompiling?
Thanks!

Re: [RDD] Import Audio Converter Error

2020-01-23 Thread Michael Babb
Thanks for your help! The issue was the metadata that was in the WAV audio
file. The audio file was copied from what was being used in another playout
system (BSI Simian). On my Mac, I have a free program called “Tag Stripper”
from markvapps.com . I ran the audio file in that
program (which strips out all the metadata) and after that the file imported
correctly into the RDLibrary.

Just out of interest, those of you who are reporting to SoundExchange, how
do you derive the required ISRC or Label for your reporting? Automated
RepMatch lookup? ACR? Some other method? Or do your music sources include
ISRC on import?

We manually entered ISRC's for all the songs in our playlists, except for
a few that don't have them, where we have to specify
title/artist/album/record label.

Re: [RDD] Using /var/snd over NFS

2020-01-23 Thread Rob Landry

One of my clients has over 25,000 songs in his library. He's got them all
on a local hard drive in the air studio, with two backup machines that are
kept in synch in case that drive fails.

He's using MusicMaster for scheduling.

We have two stations doing scheduling within Rivendell, but we're finding
that Rivendell's scheduling ability is pretty crude, and I am going to
move both stations to a scheduling program I wrote 20 years or so ago for
WCRB, assuming I can get it to work.

Hello,

Is anyone using /var/snd over NFS for the server side in a server/client setup?
We have NFS in use for /var/snd for all of the clients
but the disk location of /var/snd is physically in the same machine as the
Rivendell server itself.

The problem is that we need disk space, lots of it, to store all of the music -
thousands of CDs that need to be ripped. I'd like to
deploy a virtual machine running CentOS as the Rivendell server and then create
an NFS-shared directory on a NAS that would be mounted
remotely (in the same LAN) as /var/snd on the Rivendell server. Maybe that
leads to another issue: What are the practical limitations
of the built-in music scheduler in handling that much music? Should we limit
the amount of schedule-eligible music?

I've gathered from the mailing list archive that there have been mixed results
for this scenario.

[RDD] Program Promo Tags

2020-01-23 Thread Mark Murdock
I have several daily program promos that RDCatch gets every day, and I have
tags that I would like to play over the music at the end of the promos, but we
can't go in and produce these things in an editor every day. Is there a way to
set up the promos so the tags will start playing over the music after the voice
in the promo? Like when the level drops to -18 or something?

Thanks,

Re: [RDD] Program Promo Tags

2020-01-23 Thread Steve Varholy
I am not doing it with my Rivendell install, however with our MediaTouch
system, I do it by setting the "sec/segue" point at the beginning of the bed,
so it starts the tag. Both will play until the EOM on the tag, which triggers
the next item, ending both the bed and the tag.

Re: [RDD] Program Promo Tags

2020-01-23 Thread Steve Rubin
You can do this with sox.  I record the promo tag into a file.  The tag file
has silence in the beginning of the file so that the tag lines up with the
promo when its mixed.

sox -m -v -1 /var/snd/[cart number that rdcatch recorded into] -v 2 tag.wav
output.wav

ouput.wav goes into a dropbox location.

[RDD] Playing audio from an internet live stream

2020-01-23 Thread Michael Babb
I would like RD to play audio directly from my network’s LIVE internet URL
stream and then play my local ID at a specific time overlaying the network’s
LIVE internet stream. Is this possible solely with RD or do I also need some
sort of 3rd party software & RD to do this?

Thanks,
